A used PC fails.
no PC stated. no OS XP?
not even desktop or laptop
the photo implies Desktop
if yes, the try a barrowed keyboard, if that works bingo. no?
if not the OS is messed up or the keyboard driver is messed
all software, that is.
? this is shifted "/" so does "/" work you never said what works and what not.?

try all USB ports yet< bet first.
then barrow a keyboard.
or if all that fails, then we go to windows control panel
and click device manager
the right click the keyboard, line and pick update. driver
if connected to the internet, bingo, happens PnP, plug and play.
if XP or VISTA , Microsoft does not support those now.

OMG1: (oh my golly)
that is a very old PS2 keyboard, from 20 years ago!!!
why in the world use any PS2 keyboard in the year 2017? when USB just works. (universally) !!!
PS2 must match your unstated PC
so yours is HP KBD., is it plugged in to a DELL or non HP PC??
bingo WRONG.
why post any PC forum lacking 2 things
what PC.
what OS.

we only see PS2 post here on rare days.
its dead technology , long dead.

why not buy a pc from Goodwill sory. for $20
that is w7 and newer, 2009 (October or newer)
and avoid all relic PCs/
10 x better support you will get.
more actually.

the PS2 keyborads long long ago, generic
has switch to change it from the targeted IBM, PC 1987
seen here, clearly
what HP uses here, IVE NO CLUE nor care.
but you can just swap PS2 keyboards willlynillly

Someone is probably playing a prank on you. Disable the services one by one until you find the program that is assigning those programs hotkeys so programs can't run with hotkeys.

My HP laptop working on Windows 10 is not properly entering@ symbol when I press shift 2

I would check for firmware updates. Basically make sure you have all your updates. I would see if the Key is working at all. the 2 or the SHIFT key. It may be a hardware issue if its just that key. Which would result in needing a replacement keyboard.

Lctrl c & Lshift = doesnt work

I suppose that by Lcrtl is Left Control key.
Left Or Right CTRL and C are editing key sequences. They copy a previously selected text or object and put it in the clipboard. Then if you press Left Or Right CTRL and V sequence, the content of the clipboard is pasted in the text your are editing at the location of the cursor. However if you select nothing to copy, or you do not Paste what was copied, you won't see anything happening.
To summarize: You will see the effect of CTRL and C only if you press CTRL and V.
Left OR Right SHIFT = is supposed to type the plus (+) sign.

My @ key isnt working. instead of that the other blue marked colan is coming. how to toggle back

Have you tried pressing the button "2" on your laptop? And have you tried pressing "Shift" and then "2"? If the number appears when pressing 2, but @ doesn't appear when pressing "Shift" and then "2", chances are your input language aren't correct. Go to Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages Tab. There you can set the proper input language for your keyboard.

Try using the on-screen keyboard as well. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > On-Screen Keyboard. If @ works there, then its possible your keyboard might be faulty.

Hi my @ key wont work on my hp laptop it's a compaq nx6110 can you help plz?

Try holding down the ALT GR button on the right side of the long space bar, then while holding it down press on 2 to obtain @

But I suppose in US keyboards you get @ by pressing SHIFT and 2. if that does not work check control panel, regional and language settings, make sure the keyboard language and layout are correct.

Keys qweruiop not working on startup (first 15 minutes or so) on physical keyboard on HP G60-533CL Notebook PC running Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit). Keyboard Driver Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft...

Take the computer to a qualified technician, who can replace the keyboard, as the least-expensive "try" at trouble-shooting.

Since a keyboard transmits "codes" to the motherboard,
e.g., left-shift-has-been-pressed, and left-shift-has-been-released,
and the motherboard interprets those codes, it is NOT likely that
the motherboard is misinterpreting the codes, especially given that
the "bad' letters are in a straight line on your keyboard.

Find an external USB keyboard, and plug it in.
If it works correctly in the first 15 minutes, then the problem is NOT the motherboard.

I love my keyboard but when I press apostrophe quotes they don't appear unless I press the button twice and then I get double and have to backspace to get single quotations again.

Hi

I beleave that is how that button is supposed to work, on all the keyboards i've ever used the same thing has happened, instead I press on the " key instead of the ¨. I suppose the " is what your looking for instead of the ¨.

I'd guess your pressing on the wrong button, find the key that does " " " ", you may use SHIFT together with another key to get " to come out.

On my Finnish keyboard its SHIFT + 2 .. = "
