You can try going here: http://www.ephpod.com/ it lets you copy everything off your ipod and load it back onto your computer. My computer has crashed twice now, well once a hard drive went bad and the second time I broke a pin on the other hard drive. So I've lost my music twice. I do recommend backing it up...constantly. Take it from me

Try using the boot disk to boot the system and then enter fdisk /mbr to fix the master boot record. It doesn't destroy any data on a computer. There is a professional data recovery businesses that could probably recover that data - but at a cost. They are expensive and advertise in PC Magazines. Take care because there could be a lot of rip-off merchants in this business. In future, buy two hard drives ans use the free XXCopy from http://www.xxcopy.com/ to clone your system from one drive to the other. A good way to back-up your system is to get a second hard disk of the same or greater capacity, and use the free XXCopy from http://www.xxcopy.com/ to make a clone of your system. If the BIOS allows it, you can then set the BIOS to boot to the alternative drive to run the cloned system, format the drive containing the defective system, clone the cloned system back to the main drive, set the BIOS to boot from the main drive, and you are back in business. You can keep the spare hard disk drive stored in a safe place ready to be reinstalled in an emergency, or to update the cloned system. You install XXCopy according to the instructions that come with it. To clone the C: drive to a D: drive enter the following command in the Start => Run box - xxcopy c:\*.* d:\ /clone It is as simple as that XXCopy will open a DOS window and clone the c: drive to the other drive specified in the command. Read the article on how to use XXCopy to clone a system here - http://www.legge40.freeserve.co.uk/Tips.htm.

Computer crashed I nee to transfer my music from juke to computer

Download the desktop software from another PC and you can find the desktop software for your Samsung SCH-U470 on the manufacturer's website.

Once your have completed that step, set up your data transfer again, retrieving songs from your device back to your PC (like drag and drop).

I would recommend (since your computer has crashed) using another PC that you can trust, downloading and transferring. This may seem a little inconvenient, but it is your only option at this point.

Dissapeared songs

My guess is that the crash caused damage to the file system. This corruption may or may not erase the songs, but the only way to recover from such a crash would be to reformat your mp3 player which will result in erasure of all the songs in it. Formatting it will reset it to factory defaults and you should be able to reload your mp3 player and rock on!  Good Luck!
