If you are using internet or external devices like pen drive/memory card at your PC and you dont have gud anti virus then you must format and reinstall OS (Window). else check the CPU FAN.

Mine were hangin' too, This is a bug in windows not in firefox. The best suggestion is to reinstall windows, or delete all firefox traces in the registry and in the hdd and then try reinstalling it

Hi Krishna. Could be that the processor's cooling fan is no longer functioning and then the processor instantly overheats and everything STOPS !!! Could be the RAM memory chips not in good state anymore .....Could be that (while it tries to determine what hard drive is in there) the hard drive is BAD and cannot be identified... that would also just STOP everything.
