Replaced the handbrake switch on my Z425 and it still shuts down as soon as the handbrake is released?????

It is possible that the handbrake switch is not properly connected or that the wiring has become damaged. You should check all of the connections to make sure they are secure and that there are no loose wires. If everything looks good, then you may need to replace the switch itself. It is also possible that there is an issue with the brake system itself, such as a faulty brake caliper or a worn brake pad. If this is the case, then you will need to have it inspected by a qualified mechanic.

Mower shuts off as soon as you release parking brake and in park will shut off if you turn blade on

You most likely have a safety switch issue, try un-plugging the switch in question and holding the wire connectors together with a small vise grip and do a test to see if it will run. If it stays running, then replace the switch in question before using your machine.

While I was cutting grass the Engine shut down. Pulled the brake up. Push the PTO back down to shut the blades down. I started the engine, engine runs perfect.

Have you checked the safety switch under the seat? Operator presence is required on most equipment today to properly function. If the seat switch isn't closed, it will shut the engine down if the parking brake is released and/or the blade PTO switch is engaged. Unplug the seat switch and place a jumper into the seat switch receptacle to the wiring harness; not the male plug to the seat switch. If you can start the mower, disengage the parking brake, and engage the mower blades (with your other switches reconnected) without engine shut down, replace the seat switch.

Have 17.5hp rider. Starts and ideals ok with brake on. As soon as brake released it stalls. Tuned up and replaced the seat switch. Any ideas?

Hi, It would be more helpful to know make and model of lawn tractor. But lets try take some steps. I assume the tractor is in neutral when started and in gear when release brake pedal? So does it stall when you release brake pedal when in neutral? If not then its not. We can start checking why. Does it stall from working the engine or just shuts off? If it just shuts off then it is a switch. If it truly stalls then a park brake is on or tranny is jammed. Jack drive tries off the ground. See if you can turn tires in neutral. If you can't look for a park brake lever. And while jacked up check all your belts. To see if any are pinched. That is another problem sometimes. The drive belt gets pinched.

When I let the cluth brake out my engine shuts off

sound like 1 of your safety switches is bad. mower will run with the brake on and your not on it. there should be a seat switch under the seat, there should be a blade engage switch somewhere on the chassis, and there is also a brake switch. trace your wire harness through out the mower and check each switch. you can check the switches by unplugging them and connecting a wire to each terminal in the plug to check each 1. if after you unplug a switch and use the wire and the mower stays running after you release the brake then that switch is bad....you can bypass the switches by leaving the wire connected to the plug.
