The red light is the blink code for your tv. Count the number of blinks and Google your make and model with blink codes added to the end. This will take you to sites that will tell you what the code means.

My insignia flatscreen wont turn on red light flashes 5 times

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

LED Indications

The front panel Status LED provides an indication of

the set's operation and the possible cause of a malfunction.

If an abnormal condition is indicated, perform the

Self Diagnostics procedure.

Self Diagnostics

To activate, press the front panel <ACTIVITY> &<CH

??> buttons at the same time and hold for 5 seconds.

The STATUS LED will then flash denoting a two digit

code.

• The number of flashes indicates the value of the

MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.

• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2

second.

• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the

(ones digit) of the Error Code.

• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Example: If the Error Code is "23", the LED

will flash two times, pause, and then flash three

times.

Table 2-2: LED Indications

Error Codes, descriiptions and the most likely cause of

the error are listed in Table 2-3.

Note: The TV must be in "Shut Down." The LED

will probably be indicating an abnormal

condition. If the TV is switched Off, AC is

removed, or a System Reset is performed, the

code automatically resets to "12" No Error.

See the Error Code Log to retrieve a history of

errors.

Note: Use the front panel buttons, not the remote

control.

Note: If there is no response, the front panel may be

locked by a V-Chip setting. To unlock, press

and hold <ACTIVITY> on the front panel for

8 seconds.

Tv wont turn on, the power indicator nor the remote receiver light does not light up, the 3rd circle on the front of the tv blinks red!! But it wont come on regardless, tv is only 2 years old, what to...

The blinking red light means set is in shutdown because of a short inside the tv.

Someone to begin would have to open it and check power supply voltages inside the set....that is the first step.

Sony bravia KDF-50E2010 RED LIGHT FLASHES 4 TIMES THEN 3

Sony TV LED & Blinking Codes - What Does It Mean When Standby/Timer Light Flashes Sony has provided a "self-diagnosis function" with your TV, that in the case of abnormalities or problems the LED or red blinking light on the Timer/Standby indicator flashes a number of times to indicate the issue.
when there is trouble with your Sony Television set -- it indicates the issue in either the diagnostic mode, or even more commonly by flashing a series of LED blinks or flashes on the front of your television. Each set or frequency of the blinks indicates a very specific problem with the television itself.
Sorry but unless you may be able to repair the television set yourself , please call a local repair shop to the have a repairman sent out,,

Toshiba 42hpx95 wont turn on.. when i unplug and plug in i can hear a sound but then a red light on the front starts blinking and it does nothing

the blinking light signifies to a repair technician with capacitors or circuits are having an issue they can diagnose the problem via the amount of blinks in between pauses however it will require a technician and some specific tools and schematics to fix and it may be cheaper if its no longer under warranty to purchase a new one

Hope this helped

No sound, no picture and a red light blinks on front panel

If I remember right the set is blinking a code, dont remember which code, but what happened something on the power board failed and knocked out the 5vdc regulation? The power board will most likely need replacement, this should be done by a qualified technincian or someone who knows how to dissassemble/ repair set.
