The tv problems and causes are 100% is the tv colors wheel it is causes and the tv problems.The tv are having humming or loud buzzing noises sounds are the causes of the tv colors wheel going off and out control of it motor mount and spinning in at high RPM speed and different colors showing up or flahes of black and white color in the tv back ground.The tv colors wheel must have to be replace.Best hire a tv tech to do the replacement of the tv colors wheel,because have to take out many mechanicals parts before can even come to the tv colors wheel is self to replace it.

TV started making a buzzing noise at start up which gradually got worse ovre time until it would not shut off unless unplugged.
This tv unit have a colors wheel design into it.This tv problems,having loud squeling,buzzing noises or colors pictures are flashes black&white with the pictures.The tv colors wheel it is worn out and it is dying.The tv have a loud buzzing noises because the tv colors wheel it is worn out and warping out of it axis and it is spinning and hitting it steal frame box.The tv colors wheel sit way back of the tv behind many mechanical parts.Have no experience in mechanical works like take things aparts and putting it back again.Hire a tv tech. to change the colors wheel.

TV will not come on. Tries to start, no pic, then shuts itself off. Humming sound like fan runs for a while and then stops.
This tv have a colors wheel is dead,require a new colors wheel replacement.Tv humming,loud squiling or motor noises and picture flashes black&white within the picture.The problems is the colors wheel are worn out or warp and it not spinning correctly in it motor joints anymore,it is the tv causes.Call the tv repair shop for a tech. to repair and replacement of the colors wheel.This job,it not simple,must take out alots of machanicals parts,even come to the colors wheel itself to replace it.

How do I remove/install color wheel/balast on a samsung hl-p5063w
We just replaced our color wheel and it took about 2 hours.  We used this site because it was the only one that somewhat resembled our TV http://guides.fixyourdlp.com/samsung/bp96-01579a.php  Our TV had a loud humming noise and no picture.  We also had to replace the bulb.  Hope this helps.

our 62hm15 had the same problem and it was the dmd fan, which means the whole light engine needs replacing. this was going to cost us $1600. I hope yours is under warranty

If the sound, sounds more like a Hum with some vibration chances are the Cooling fan located behind the lamp is going bad, about $20 to repair, if its a high pitch hum most likely the Color Wheel and if thats the case about $30.
Good luck, my fan just went bad now seeing green dots everywhere, so debating on just junking it out or fixing it, with winter coming on might just breakdown and buy LCD and say the heck with DLP from now on.
