If it's not working and if you doubt something is wrong, a simple reset could solve the problem. For resetting the iPod Nano Slide the Hold switch to HOLD and back again. Hi! Congrats for your ipod nano. Use latest version of iTunes available on http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/. Install it and then connect your ipod with the pc. Hope this solves your concern.
