I have this same problem. I changed the cord and handset. This did not help. When I pickup the handset it picks a line and it lights the line button. But, I cannot hear the dial tone. I can hear on the speaker phone feature just fine. I am beginning to think it may be internal. Thanks for helping.

I had exact same problem & found solution hidden in Uniden site:

http://www.mycusthelp.com/uniden/supportkbitem.asp?sSessionID=&Inc=1199&sFilA=Product&sFilB=Model&sFilC=&FA=-1&FB=-1&FC=-1

Basically, I "rebooted the base unit in sequence shown under 14b-h only & I got my phone working!

  1. 1.Make sure phone is not sharing an ac outlet with any other types of electronic equipment.
  2. Make sure base ac adapter is not sharing a multi outlet plug.
  3. Make sure phone cord is not plugged into a splitter, fax, computer or remote answering machine.
  4. Check to see if the phone cord is plugged in properly.
  5. Check to see if the AC Adapter has been properly plugged in, the outlet is on and working.
  6. Make sure phone jack is working.
  7. Phone cord needs to be plugged directly into phone jack to insure optimal performance.
  8. Make sure you are using the original ac adapter that came with the unit. (It should say Uniden on it)
  9. Make sure proper battery is being used .(It should be the one that came with the unit, or a new Uniden battery)
  10. Make sure battery is installed and plugged in all the way.( It should click in)
  11. Move phone to a different location in the home. (Different phone jack)
  12. Disconnect AC Adapter and reconnect it After 25 seconds.
  13. Reset the Digital Security Code if applicable - instructions can be found in owner's manual if applicable
  14. If nothing else has worked. You can see if a basic reset will work on the phone. A reset is done by following the below steps:
    a. Disconnect Battery from handset(s)
    b. Disconnect Phone Cord from wall jack
    c. Disconnect Phone cord from base unit
    d. Disconnect AC adapter from wall outlet
    e. Allow to sit for 30 min
    f. Reconnect Phone Cord to base
    g. Reconnect Phone cord to wall jack
    h. Reconnect AC Adapter to wall outlet
    i. Reconnect Battery to handset until you click or feel the plug snap into place
    j. Re-Register Handset by placing on main base (Resetting security code - manually)
  15. Check to see if you are on tone dialing or pulse dialing.
  16. If you are still experiencing problems please call customer service at 1-800-297-1023, please tell them that a basic system reset has already been completed and what the issues are still.

It could be the speaker which can be swithched with one that works from another phone. Unscrew the receiver and switch it and then see if you can hear.

This problem often results from a defective handset cord--check the handset cord by switching it with a good one. If that solves the problem, replace the cord. With a portable phone, substitute a transmitter from another telephone--replace if necessary.

Do you have a dial tone? Do any other phones show caller id? do any other phones ring? Have you programmed the phones? Really need more information in order to help.

I can't make or receive calls on my iPhone. Any suggestions?

Contact your Telco and ask them if there is a problem with your account and ask if they can test your device.

Also you don't say WHICH iPhone? 3GS, 4S iPhone 8, iPhone 15 Pro Max? Age matters.

Can not hear callers and caller can not hear me I hear ring tone I can txt my alarm works just no phone calls

Hi, You will need to replace the earpiece and the mouthpiece.

The earpiece makes you to hear callers when they call, and the mouthpiece allows the callers to hear you when you call.

When you replace the mouthpiece and earpiece, the phone will be normal again.

Take care.

The caller hears 7 rings before the Tundra rings with their call We have missed calls on the Tundra because the caller assumes we are not available. When calling the Tundra, the caller hears 4 rings......

The tundra needs to have a software upgrade. This upgrade is done through calling 611 and needs to have a software update sent to the phone. If you have any questions email me at [email protected]

I can't hear the caller but the caller can hear me!

just need a new earpiece speaker or it simply needs to be adjusted into place. If there is no repair shop around you or you do not want to mess with it, then just buy a $20 bluetooth headset to bypass the whole earpiece.

Phone rings but when answered the caller can not be heard.

Your ear speaker is bad. You may need to replace it.. This one made by HTC. You can check on Ebay for replacement part. Other issue could be is the hardware part of the ear speaker may be broken or defected will cause loosing contact with the main circuit or you can say it is short. Only solution is open the phone and check for that area to see for any defective.
