Acer 5742 seldom finds its broadcom wifi adaptor bcm943225hm when booting. sometimes the orange antenne led does not even light up. rebooting multiple times sometimes helps. reinstalling driver always helps. broadcom version 5.100.249.2 on original driver cd. I cannot find any more recent drivers in the web. please help.

for recovery cd, i don't think acer have it online, you need to order it from them.

FYI, if you haven't delete the partition in your hdd, you can use alt+f10 to re-install your Operating system and after that, you can create your own recovery cd.

Try searching on google for KB888111. It's a microsoft software that is for the HD Audio bus that corrects a lot of problems.  Run driver update and point to the software you downloaded for 888111 and then install the software for the audio.
