Connected a att micro cell tower to our two wire modem for better cell service. Now we have very slow speed opening emails and attachments. If we disconnect the cell tower it works fine. Att suggested we get an adaptor for another ethernet connection to put into the usb port. Any suggestions? We have upgraded our speed to the fastest on dsl with att.

SOURCE: 2701HGB modem - dsl light flashes red

if all the lights on the modem are Green then it means there's no prob with the hardware. just make sure that you're going to use the right WEP key or wireless password. the network name is 2wirexxx, the X is the the last 3 numbers of the SN which can be found on the bottom of your 2wire 2701HG-B.make sure that your wireless switch is also turned on of course. the wireless light on the modem will lit if it is connected

SOURCE: I have a 2wire 2701HG-B modem and ATT DSL srvice.

I had the same issues with SaskTel in Canada, with the same router. It was a downstream line issue. Actually, I had the problem twice with 2 separate causes. I'd check the continuity of the lines from the punchblock (where the service enters the house) to the wall panel that you are plugging the router into. There may be a bad pairing somewhere in the wall from corroded wires, rodent damage, heat etc... and simply swapping the pairs at the block and the wall may fix the problem. That being said, both fixes from SaskTel came at the local junction box, once from a tech bumping one of my lines off the block and another from a second high-bandwidth line being connected into the same pairing as mine on the main line.

So, unfortunately, if its not in the wall...you'll be pulling teeth with AT&T for a while.

look in your settings and see if your phone is on airplane mode. also if you dial *2290 it will also help you to get better service. these phones only run on two towers verizon and att. where i am at att does not work at all. I only use straight talk and i love the service but it all depends on your service tower. if this doesnt help you might have to call customer service .

Att dsl is slow and getting only 340kbs download avg instead of 3 megs?

I would call your Internet Service Provider tech support for your DSL and try to solve the issue. It may not be the hardware issue.

I HAVE HAD MY WEST TELL MODEM FOR APROX 10 YEARS AND NOW IT IS RUNNING SLOW AND TAKES ABOUT 3 TO 5 MIN TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM.

probably just outdated. Ask att for a new modem. If that doesn't work wait a day or 2 and call them and tell them you want to cancel your service (if you don't have a contract). I guarantee you they will do whatever it takes to keep your business. New Modem, more bandwidth, less money, everything. They all do it. Phone, cable, cell carriers. all of them.
hope this helps you
