Same problem as well. What a pain.

  • timwu Nov 20, 2008

Just bought this from Costco, and out of the box, every button except the channel up/down button works. Neither the channel up/down on remote nor on the tv work.

Had to input the numbers from the remote manually to select channel.

A bit annoying. Good thing Costco has two year warranty plus, 1 year offered by Amex. So I will probably wait for any other issues before calling support.

Simple Fix

I had the same problem, couldn't change the channels with the remote or on the side of the TV. This was for a Vizio 37"

Here is the fix:

1. Turn on TV

2. With remote, press the Menu Button

3. Go to Antenna Menu

4. Select Auto Search
Let it search, it could take several minutes. It may not finish to 100%, mine got stuck at 79% for 10 minutes. It's fine if that happens, go ahead and cancel.

5. It should be done, your remote will work perfect along with the TV channel buttons.

i have never commented on one of these internet sites before, but dang, this was SO HELPFUL. for such a seemingly little problem, it was so annoying! thank you so much!!!!

  • freyarmr Dec 13, 2010

Me neither ... It worked perfectly for a Vizio 42", just followed the steps to re-scan ("Auto Search") available channels (took about 2 minutes) and started working. Did not have to remove batteries, unplug TV or press any buttons. Thanks for the tip !!!

  • Anonymous Aug 09, 2013

Okay what if the TV wont let me select any channel or auto scan selections. Its all highlighted and it wont let me select any of those functions?

Try using the menu button(s) on the tv's panel to change the "Fixed Channel" option to OFF. I had the same problem on a 2002 Sony TV and it was locked on channel 3.

From Costco Technical Support (it worked for me for use with an antenna): Part A- 1)Remove batteries from remote. 2)Push each button on remote two times 3)Unplug TV 4)Press on/off button on side of TV holding for two minutes. 5)Wait five minutes before plugging TV back in. 6)Replace batteries in remote
Part B- 1)Go to menu 2)Select Antenna 3)Select Auto program.
After auto program completed searching for signals, I was able to receive all stations as before. Good luck!

Actual problem was on a 37" not 32". Replaced the mother/tuner board. Works now. 20 months of service before it conked out. Underwarrenty with Costco additional 1 year service but I had to fight Vizio to understand my problem. First service tech went up the ladder and had the service Ok'd then they never called back. Had to redo the chain of command again, until they finally responded that I had a problem.

We are on over-the-air with a combo UHF/VHF antenna. Vizio could not understand at first why I could get analog and not digital. They thought I was on cable or satellite on single bandwith antenna?

How do I tune in my TV LE26R73BDXJXEU AEL53SDL704282P AM01

First, make sure that the source is set to TV. (Use the TV button at the top left of the remote to ensure that the TV is being controlled by the remote. The Source button is the one to the right of the Power button on the remote. It's the top button on the side of the TV. ) Next press Menu. (On the remote, it's the button to the upper left of the arrow keys. It's the second button from the top on the TV side panel.) Use the Up/Down arrow keys to navigate to Channel. Press Enter. (Note: the channel buttons at the bottom of the side panel buttons match the Up/Down arrows of the remote. The Source button on the TV is the Enter key.) Press Enter again and use the Up/Down arrow keys to highlight your country. Press Enter. Navigate to Auto Store and press Enter twice. Wait for the TV to go through the channels and test for signal.

You can also add channels manually by using the Manual Store option. If you know the channel number, you would then choose Channel and select C (over-the-air) or S (cable) and then the Right arrow key. Use the arrow keys to highlight the desired channel. Press Enter. Use the arrow keys to select Store and press Enter again. Otherwise choose Search. Use the Up/Down arrows to select a channel. Press Enter, go to Store and press Enter again. Repeat this for each channel.

The manual for the LE26R73BD is available on the support page: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/LE26R73BDX/FID/ . The current link to the manual is https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/200603/20060325173246984_BN68-01007A-00Eng-0302.pdf.

I hope this helps. If you use a set top box with a non-RF coaxial cable output to the TV, the channel option will not be available.

I changed my tv from cable to an indoor antenna however I cannot get it back to set up to change it over to antenna or air. Help1

Do you mean the Curtis LED1930A 19" TV? If so, first check that the source is set to TV. Use the Source button on the TV (just below the power button) or the remote (to the right of the 0). You can use the up/down arrow keys to change lines in the Input list. Press Enter to confirm the choice if you are using the remote.

Next press Menu on the TV (the third button from the top) or remote (to the left of the 0). Use the left/right buttons to navigate to the Channel heading (the third item from the left). Use the Source key (on the TV) or press Enter on the remote to enter the menu. Use the up/down arrows to highlight Signal Type. Press Enter (or Source) and then use the left/right arrows to get Air. Press Enter to confirm the setting. Now you should be able to highlight Auto Channel Search and search for your OTA channels.

This is shown in the manual. The manual is available from Amazon here: http://s3.amazonaws.com/szmanuals/d29a408ae8fdecdc0547a724183146ef .

I hope this helps.

Just bought an RCL3210 TV. The odd thing is that the Channel up/down key on the remote control does not change the channel. Also, the up/down channel key on the TV itself also does not respond. When you...

You need to find how to CLEAR the auto channel settings. Sounds like the TV is set to SKIP all channels. Look for a MENU and then look for an AUTO setting that will walk through all channels and set those where you have reception as the "list" that the remote and the Up/Down buttons on the tv will choose.
PS: GREAT writeup on your problem and the things you have tried.

Getting a specific channel on the TV without using a remote

Usually if you go into the setup menu, there is an option to allow you to either "scan" for a channel, or "input" a channel. In this case, select "input" and see if the TV will allow you to press the up and down channel buttons and go to a specific channel. If so, when you get to channel 4, press the "add this channel" option (or whatever the menu option says) and you should then be able to go to channel 4 using the buttons on the front without skipping over it.

Aiwa TV MODEL No. TV-A149 AGING

I have Aiwa TV MODEL No. TV-A149
The problem that I am suddenly facing is that I can't change channels or volume or use any other function. I can't even turn it off with remote control.

Its stuck randomly on a particular channel that I was watching at that point of time.

Along with that channel it now shows a message in flashing red color that reads :-
AGING
6EDEH

Now when I press ''Display'' button on remote control volume goes off and this code is shown :-
S123 K234 Y
100 000 0

The numbers in the second line can be navigated by ''CH+'' button and changed between 0 and 1 by ''Vol+'' button.

I really don't know anything about this. So, please help me out of this problem.
