Right now the TV is set to accept the video signal from PC through the VGA port so when it does not see the video signal from the VGA port, the TV will go into shutdown or standby mode. You need to change the input to be where the cable box is connected to using INPUT or SOURCE button on the remote.
What kind of connection are you using to make the connection between the TV and the cable box?
Please clarify. Make and model of the TV?

I have a TCL 43 43S421, and it turns on logo and shuts off, why?

Hi,

Please remove the batteries from your tv remote and then turn on the tv directly from the tv itself. If it stays on that means that your remote had an iffy power button that was the source of the tv constantly being turned off and on. Thank you.

How do I get Amazon Fire TV resolution set so I get more than a blue screen?

Select the input channel for your Fire TV - Turn on your TV and select the input channel for the HDMI port you used to connect your Fire TV. You should then see a loading screen with the Amazon Fire TV logo 4.

Panasonic Viera PC-to-TV Via VGA has Purple Tint

Purple Panasonic PC>TV Problem:
The VGA cable uses three primary color RGB channels.
Red, Green, and Blue.
The picture is made up of pixels or dots arranged in a grid along the "X" horizontal axis and "Y" vertical axis.
The computer mixes the intensity of each color channel to create a unique color per pixel.
All RGB at 100% creates white.
R+G creates yellow.
R+B creates magenta, ie purplish.
G+B creates cyan.
So a purplish tint sounds as if your Green wire has no signal, which may indicate a faulty VGA cable or VGA socket.
Put another way, (R+G+B)-G=R+B=magenta.
So try another VGA cable, spray all socket pins with "Servisol " or similar contact cleaner.
0%<--------->100%
Cyan<------->Red
Magenta<--->Green
Yellow<------>Blue
All 0%=Black; All 50%=Grey; All 100%=White.

Stuck at Dell splash screen.

Hello, I have pulled out hair over similar problems. You either have an internal problem inside of the TV or you are losing your source for the picture.

These sets usually have a a Menu which tells the TV to go to a certain input socket for its feeding signal. If you have a bad cable or USB plug, the TV loses its feed and displays the Base Dell Logo.

This feed can be a HDMI multiple wire, or if you have a tapeplayer, CD deck, or Computer feed, they may be toggled separately. On some of my older equipment, I need to switch the TV ports through my Remote to get the appropriate appliance to show on my TV screen.

Depending on your Warranty, you may want to call Service. Sometimes dust can cross circuit the electronics and cause the problem you have. The cable feed wire can also be shorting and causing a loss of signal. Check you cable connections.

I'm connecting to a tv with a VGA cable from my Acer netbook. My tv says No Signal. Windows makes the "ba dum" sound when I connect/disconect the cable, but under my display settings, it doesn't...

Don't forget that the TV source or input needs to be set to "PC". Once that is done turn the netbook OFF, then plug the VGA cable into the netbook and start the computer. The computer screen should automatically show up on the TV.

Proscan 32'' VGA port; TV says not supported on VGA input

Sounds like your resolution on your computer is set too high for your tv to accept. Try putting your computer resolution down to 1024x768 or lower and see if that works.
