On your oil tank, there are three hoses. The hose that comes off the lower fitting goes to the outside fiiting on the top of the pump or to the center fitting of the pump top plate. The oil comes out of the inner fitting on the pump and goes to the oil filter. It should to to the outside holes of the filter. The oil leaves the filter though the large hole in the center and returns to the tank to one of the fittings at the top of the tank. The other fitting at the top of the tank comes for the engine case just above and to the inside of the oil pump. On the lower backside of the oil tank is the oil drain hose. If you're unsure which fitting on your oil pump is the inlet and which is the outlet, squirt a bit of oil into each fitting until it's full. Then press the start button or rotate the engine in it's normal direction of rotation and watch the oil. If the oil is sucked into pump, that's the inlet. If it's pumped out of the pump, that's the outlet. Sorry I don't have a picture. There is a drawing in the service manuals.

Good Luck
Steve

Oil line routing for a 1992 HD ultra classic electra glide

The oil line routing for a 1992 Harley-Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide can vary depending on the specific configuration and any modifications that have been made to the motorcycle. However, I can provide you with a general guideline for the oil line routing on this model:
  1. Oil Pump to Oil Filter: There should be a hose connecting the oil pump to the oil filter. The oil pump is typically located on the bottom of the engine, while the oil filter is usually located on the front or side of the engine.
  2. Oil Filter to Engine: Another hose should connect the oil filter to the engine. This hose delivers the filtered oil from the oil filter back into the engine.
  3. Oil Tank to Oil Pump: The oil tank, which is usually located underneath the seat or in the saddlebags, should have a hose that connects to the oil pump. This hose allows the oil to be drawn from the oil tank into the oil pump for circulation.
  4. Breather Lines: There may also be breather lines connected to the engine and oil tank. These lines help to release excess pressure and prevent oil leaks.
It is important to consult the motorcycle's service manual or seek assistance from a qualified mechanic to ensure the correct routing of oil lines for your specific model. The service manual will provide detailed diagrams and instructions specific to your motorcycle's year and model, ensuring proper oil flow and system functionality.
Additionally, be sure to check for any specific oil line routing guidelines or modifications from aftermarket parts or accessories that may have been installed on your motorcycle.

1972 shovelhead oil routing

Bottom of oil tank to right/outside feed on pump. Inside is return line to top of tank where filter cap is. If you ran a cooler than run this line to the cooler and back to the tank. Above the pump is the large vent line. It goes to a tee fitting and than to the top of the tank and to the back/bottom of the primary. The small line goes to the back /center of the primary. It\'s the chain oiler.

Need diagram for 87 heritage softail oil line routing

The tank has four lines on it. The large line on back side of the tank is the oil drain line. The lowest oil line on the bottom of the tank goes to the feed side of the oil pump. The oil comes out of the other fitting on the pump and goes through the oil filter. It goes to the outer edge of the filter. The oil comes out of the center of the filter and goes back to one of the upper nipples on the tank. There is a vent line that comes out of the case just behind and above the oil pump that goes to the other high nipple of the tank.

If you can't figure out which fitting is which on your oil pump, jack the rear wheel up and put the transmission in high gear, remove the spark plugs. Then, using a oil squirt can, fill the fittings with oil. Turn the rear wheel in the normal direction of rotation and watch which fitting spits the oil out, this is the return side of the pump and the other side is the feed side. Depending on how the oil pump is set up, the feed fitting is the one closest to the centerline of the bike usually. But, It depends on how the pump is set up. If it only has one fitting on the pump outer plate, that is the feed fitting.

Does anyone have a diagram for how the oil lines run on a 1970 ironhead sportster with an oil cooler?

You '70 model has the "long" style oil pump on it. It has a inlet and an outlet. Of course, the hose from the bottom of the oil tank goes to the inlet. From the outlet of the pump, route your oil line to the oil cooler. Then from the oil cooler back the top of the oil tank where the cap goes on. The oil filter is inside the tank under the cap. There is also a vent hose that comes from just in front of the front chain sprocket that goes to the small nipple on the oil tank. This is the way most people run the oil lines.

Then the line goes out at the top of the carb. to the primer\'s suction side? Then out of the primer to the fuel tank? This route the primer pulls gas through the carb. Routings of fuel line to Poulan 14 inch chainsaw Model 2025

No drawings or pix, but will try for description--the line from the tank that has the fuel filter is the main fuel source which goes to the upper connection on the carburetor. The lower carburetor connection goes to the intake side of the primer bulb, and the outlet side of the primer goes back into the tank, which has no filter inside the tank. The main problem is determining the correct primer port to connect back to the carburetor. When everything is connected, try priming the carburetor. If fuel fills the bulb, you have everything connected correctly. If nothing happens, try switching the two primer port connections and try to pump fuel again. If still nothing, hook the main supply line from the carburetor over to one of the primer ports and try for fuel again--if still nothing, switch the main supply line to the other primer port and pump again. If still nothing, check for a plugged fuel filter in the tank. If the filter was plugged, then go through the previous procedure again. Make sure to replace the fuel lines with original rubber lines, not plastic. Hope this helps!

Want to change the oil and filter on my 1999 flstc

The oil drain is a large diameter hose with a metal plug in it. It runs down along the backside of the frame just behind the transmission on the right hand side of the bike. There is a metal clip welded onto the frame to hold the hose. Take the hose out of the clip, remove the plug, and drain the oil tank. Refill with three quarts of oil

The transmission drain is a small 1/8" pipe plug that takes a Torx wrench to remove. It is located on the right side of the transmisson just below the chrome clutch release cover. The tranny takes 20-24 ounces of H-D trans lube or Syn3 oil. The transmission fills through the large hole in the top of the chrome clutch release cover. It takes a 7/16" hex key to remove the plug, It has a dipstick on the plug.

I am replacing the stock oil lines on my 02 883. I forgot what the oil route is from the pump. I know that there is 2 lines on the bottom of the pump and one a little higher. One of the bottom ones goes to...

An oil line routing diagram is in the factory service manual. Screw the oil filter off, remove your spark plugs, and spin the engine. If oil pumps out of hose going to the oil filter, you pump is working fine. If you do not have any oil pressure, your tappets will rattle badly. You'll know it.
