My 40' vivo tv has turned off and won't turn back on but the red stand by light is on??

it might be in stand by open setting and turn off the stand by

do you have back light or not? and do you have sound or not?
if back light comes on and sound on but still no picture.. problem is in T-Con PCB.
if no back light.. but sound ok.. problem in back light.

A lot of people are confused about turning the TV 'off'. If there is a light showing when the TV is 'off' it is merely on 'stand-by' and not truly off. Off means being physically turned off by either the switch on the set or the mains. using the remote to turn 'off' the TV will not turn off it will only put the set into stand-by mode. In many cases if the TV is in stand-by mode, and then switched off, when the set is turned back on, it will still be in stand-by mode, and will need to be turned on with the remote. (even if you unplug, in some cases) All TV's are different, so will operate differently of course.

These are the universal remote control codes to Vivo TV. 0004 0005 0009. Check this link to know more codes and proceedings to other brands of remote controls, and buy one remote control that has setup codes with your TV. The above said codes are for GE remote with Vivo TV.

Not making it on or out of standby---first place to look is the power supply for signs of damage or puffed up filter caps there.

most likely a transformer in your stand by power gas blown, best to replace the power board

go to turn tv on,hear a poping noise,once then tv standby lite blinks 3 times repeatily but no picture or audio.can you help me out with this thank you

turn tv on picture comes up 2to3 seconds later tv blacks out then stand by red light flashes 4 times in a row repeatedly..can not turn on or off when stand by light starts flashing but before tv blacks out you can turn tv on and off repeatedly and picture and sound work.You have to unplug power cord for 30 seconds after stand by light comes on to get tv to turn on.

if you are comfortable taking the back cover off, do it and visually inspect a cylindrical shaped components on the power supply unit... if you can send a picture please do [email protected]
