The document may be too large for the internal memory to handle. PDF documents can be quite large depending on the system used in forming the PDF, the content of the PDF and the Paper Settings in the document. It may also just be really slow to interpret the information from the PC onto the page.
Check the size of the document on your computer. If it is more than 1 or 2 Mb then see if you can get it resized. most inkjet printers don't have alot of memory and a 2 Mb file interprets into a very large amount of information for the printer to process.
You can try to update your printer driver by downloading the Lexmark X7170 driver from the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/fWPweq. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.
You can also try to decrease the scan resolution. Launch Lexmark All-In-One Center application on your computer. Select Scan mode > See More Scan Settings > lower the scan resolution value to 200 or 150 dpi. Note: This will decrease the scan file size and affect the scan output.
Or you can use a third party scan software to decrease scan file size. You can search the web for free scan softwares.
My suggestion would be to check your scanning software and change the quality of the scan. If it is a document - you really don't need a quality above 200 - maybe even lower if it's available. I would guess your scanning software is defaulting to a much higher quality.
hmmm... just the set pixels properties to medium..maybe the pixels properties is to high..it can cause long time scanning and large images results ..thank you
well you are able to scan multiple documents.. but the file size is more.. the way lexmark software writes the pdf file.. the file will be huge for PDF... but not sure if this is a case with any other all in one manufacturer like HP also... but i would assume it would be the same..
so scan the file to MS WORD or any other application that supports multiple pages... so u have it as one file... but if u want only pdf files, then u have to do a little work around like writing the MS WORD Document to pdf format. If the PDF Writer is not installed with your copy of MSWORD then try any free pdf writer software available on the internet.
