I need help wiring in a new speed control on my bosch table saw 4000. The new speed control came with a large black wire, a small black wire and a small blue wire. The large black wire was easy and I assume the small black wire gos with the other small black wire but I'm not sure what to do with the blue wire. Help! or access to a wiring diagram would be cool.

So I called Bosch on Monday and they were well informed and helpful. They emailed me a schematic and explanation of ...
4000 PCB wiring diagram.
1. White AC line cord to white field wire.
2. Black AC line cord to thin blue wire on PCB.
3. Black motor field wire to thin black wire on PCB.
4. Black long, thick wire on PCB to red motor brush wire with push on connector.

SOURCE: The motor on my 4000 Bosch table saw burnt out

Contact Bosch for authorized repair centers near you. if you are handy with tools, you maybe able to replace the motor youself. If you happen to live in Nebraska, there is a guy in Kearney that repairs all makes of tools.

SOURCE: Bosch 4000 table saw. The saw stopped while

If you are mechanically inclined and it sounds that way do you have a volt ohms meter?? If so start at the cord and check the continuity to the brush holders. Why did you replace the field? You might have had a stuck brush or some other problem. Make sure the brushes move freely in the tubes and also look for discoloration on the commutator of the armature. Let me know what you find and I will try and help you thru the rest of it.

SOURCE: My Bosch 4000 table saw blade spins very slow.

could be bearings locking up/seizing or do you smell any burning when running indicating the armature/field are burnt from possibly overloading with a dull blade.

Bosch 4000 table saw motor schmatic

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/bosch-4000-0601476139-table-saw-parts-c-128_167_168.html
I have found the most common issue is a bad field with the second being a bad rear armature bearing and last being a bad speed control.
Most of the time slow speed or even running backwards is a bad field (part #2 on the breakdown) #1619PA5590
Remove the cap on the end of the motor & the 2 carbon brushes.
Remove the 4 screws holding the motor to the frame and pull it straight off.
Check the bearing on the end of the armature to ensure it is not frozen or stiff. If it is also check the rubber boot that sits over the bearing and the motor housing itself to ensure it is not melted.

Bosh 4000 table saw runs backward and at low speed

I've worked on some table saws with problems like you describe, a couple needed a new speed control unit (Bosch PN 2610997306) in the motor. If all the wiring to and inside the motor is OK and not shorting out anywhere, that's the next part you should look at.

Bosch 4000

The speed control on your table saw works by sensing what's going on in the field. If you replaced the speed control circuit board and the motor still runs out of control, the next item to replace is the field.

Bosch 4000 Table Saw running backward

You can find the 4000 manuals and parts diagram at bosch tools online. You will need a new armture Bnew bushes and possibly field. I would also replace the bearings and motor speed control circuit board.
Bosch does not sell the motor assembly.
Turn unit upside down and remove the Plastic body - approx 6 screws.
Thake a digital camera and take LOTS of pictures of dissassembly as you will need them later. Blow unit clean and work neatly keeping all parts in labeled bins for reassembly. Don't attempt this job when your pressed for time.
Before you start check to see if this machine is still under warranty!!
Call customer support listed on website if you run into a problem.
Good Luck !!

Bosch 4000 table saw will not start. I changed the switch and still won't start, not even a sound. The saw is relatively new, and the outlet works. What should I try next?

A real Weakness of this saw is sawdust and debri entering the cooling ports of the motor causing intermittent contact of brushes which damages the motor speed control board ($40.00). Don't ever operate this saw with out a vacuum saw dust extraction system. Also when you replace the Speed control board also replace the Brushes ($6.00). It helps extend the operational life of the motor components to blow out the contaminants regularly with compressed air through the motor cooling ports (turn off saw first).
You can bypass the speed control board (if you want to disable this wonderful engineering feature by attaching black and white power wires directly to the black and white wires to motor.

I have a BOSCH 4000 table saw which spins very slow. I opened the motor took out the field to examine. When I tried to reassemble it, I faced some problem. There are two wires from field, one connects to...

There is 4 wires from the field, 2 reds a white and a black. the reds have spade connectors on them, they go to the brush holders. The white goes to the white on the speed controler and the black goes to the black on the speed controller. There is one wire from the speed control that goes on to one of the brush leads, there is a small adapter that allows both wires to be connected. If the motor spins very slow then the field is faulty and needs replaced.

Hope this helps

Hi it seems like their is no power but their is, the motor is very hard to turn by hand? I'm assuming the bearings are gone. what do you think any history on these similar problems

bearings in a table saw are always a problem, but the replacement cost is cheaper than a new saw, but also if you have possibly overloaded or tried cutting with a dull blade the electrical system might be out. I would think the bearings first though.

Bosch 4000 table saw won't work

OK sounds like you are handy. You have electric to the brush tubes? (first unplug saw to test) If yes then I would remove the brushes to see if they were making contact with the commutator. Does the blade spin freely? If not you might have a bearing problem. I would again use air after removing the brushes and then reinsert making sure they seat on the armature. If still nothing then if you are comfortable I would pull the motor housing. But before pulling go to Bosch Tools website and downloading a breakdown of your saw. Let me know if I can help
