If it's set for
Continuous Mode the fan will run all the time. It does so, in an effort to keep recycling the air. Once it senses a rise in humidity, the compressor turns ON. Check the settings, to be sure it's where you think. Also, check and clean the air filter, if necessary. Before removing the filter, be sure to turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit from the wall outlet. If you wash the filter, it most be completely dry, before reinstalling it. Do Not operate the unit without the air intake filter installed.
Make sure you are maintaining at least 12" - 18" clear air space around the entire unit.
