Hi,
Changing boot sequence.
Go to bios setting, click "F2" upon start up( when you read the bios and HD readout ). Choose the part boot sequence, click " enter" and choose what drive will be use first.
Save the settings upon exit.

Hope FixYa helped you out!

Labtop won't turn on

Turn on, hold F8 button down until boot menu appears. Download Norton Boot Recovry to disc from another computer. Install in ur CD/DVD drive. Boot ur computer. Or install ur operating system disc in cCD rom drive. Reboot computer, hold F2 button down, modify BIOS boot sequence so CD Rom in 1st boot device. Boot computer, repair or reinstall operating system.

I have acer aspire 3000+ and cant change bios setup to boot first from cd rom and erecovery doesnt work

Why can't you change the bios setup to change the boot order or boot sequence?

Also you can change the boot order or boot sequence temporarily by just rebooting the laptop then watch the screen for which key it says to hit to change the boot sequence or boot order, then hit that key when you see the message.

How to reboot from boot sequence

Click the power button and watch the screen to see which key it says to press to get into the Bios or System Setup. Change the boot order or boot sequence. You want to boot from the cd drive 1st and the hard drive 2nd. This will change it permanently. Then reboot.

There might also be an option to change it temporarily when you boot the system. Just watch the screen and see if it shows you which key to press to change the boot order or boot sequence. It is only effective for this one boot.

I tried to install windows 7 on my HP Pavillion DV9, but it's not booting from CD-ROM, i tried using a USB CD-ROM, but it's still not booting. pls I need assistance.

Hi,

Try to check if the windows 7 disc that you are using is not just an upgrade disc. Make sure that it is a bootable disc. Try to use other bootable disc to test. Also make sure that the boot device priority is set CD/DVD drive.

Hope this helps.

My laptop won't boot from cd

to reset the BIOS, there is a small battery somewhere in your computer. if you unplug it for 3 seconds, it will reset the BIOS. I RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT TRY THIS! get a service professional. If this doesn't work you might need to get a new laptop.

Problem to boot from CD or Floppy or HD in my laptop NEC lavei NX LV20C Is there any hardware problem with the computer? Please any one give me your idea.

for your laptop type , I don't know exactly the keys for doing this, it may be (delete, any of F keys, etc,,,). but for all computers you must check the key for entering bois setup and change your boot order for your computer, and change it to your cd-rom or what you want, save changes, restart your computer, boot from your cd.

Can't change the boot sequence

can you see the cd rom on the devices installed list as if its not showing up it will not let you change the boot sequence. also to revert to factory settings you need to remove the bios battery hand leave out for a few minutes, then put back in on first boot it will ask for the settings to be set.
