Inverter circuit is faulty, send your UPS to APC authorized service center

  • Jesrey Paco-in Feb 21, 2013

Most of the time, overload is cause by faulty inverter circuit, open your UPS and check the power mosfets and component around it. If not send your UPS to the nearest APC authorized service center in your area. Good luck!

it seems that the inverter circuit of your UPS is dying. the solution here is you have to open up the UPS and check the inverter circuit. to make easier, check the power mosfet if its leaking.

What can you advice me to do? i have a UPS SURTD5000XLI, indicating a red Led light, but when i remove it from the AC power source, the Red Led also remove & when i flog it again to the AC Source it...

Is red light on for overload or for battery?
If on overload, try reducing the load on the UPS. If red light on overload persists buy a new UPS (overload fault hard to repair).

Red light on battery - replace the batteries.

Red light on boost or buck, may mean that the nominal voltage of ups and the limits need to be changed/corrected.

I connected 8, 100Ah battery with APC 2.2KVA inverter, now it doesnt give correct battery indication and keep producing beeping noise, whats the problem?

Continuous Beeping (theamber On Battery LED will be illuminated)
This alarm indicates that the UPS has reached aLow Battery condition and will soon shutdown. The UPS can only operate onbattery for a limited amount of time. In order to protect the unit's batteriesfrom discharging too much, the UPS will shutdown and turn off its output. Towarn you that the unit will soon shutdown, the UPS will sound this alarm 2minutes before actual shutdown. With optional Powerchute Plus software, 2minutes can be changed to 5, 7, or 10 minutes to give you more of a warning ofimpending shutdown. If you hear this tone, you should immediately gracefullyshutdown your operating system to prevent data loss or corruption.
Note:This graceful shutdown will occur automatically if Powerchute PLUS software isbeing used.

Constant, Solid Tone (the red Overload LEDwill be illuminated)
This alarm indicates that the UPS has detectedan Overload condition. If this alarm is sounded, try removing non-essentialequipment. The alarm will remain until the load is reduced. To determine ifyour UPS is capable of handling the equipment you want to protect, visit APC'sSizing Guide at www.apcc.com/sizing.

Continuous Beeps for One Minute; RepeatedEvery 5 Hours (Replace Battery LED will be illuminated)
This alarm indicates that the UPS has failed itsSelf-Test of the battery. The unit will continue to sound this alarm until theunit passes the test. Try to let the unit charge for a few hours and thenperform another Self-Test (Press and hold the on/off button until the second'chirp', then release). If it fails and the unit is still in-warranty (twoyears from date of purchase), then contact APC. If the unit fails and its outof warranty, then order a replacement battey cartridge through your reseller, distributor, or from APC's web site.

Tone alarm goes off and flashes "overload" and on the back "building wireing fault" is lit up

The "Overload" light and alarm is to tell you that the devices connected to the UPS are drawing more current than the UPS can safely provide with battery backup. You should disconnect a few items, and the alarm and overload light will turn off. The "Building wiring fault" light on the back is to tell you that there's no proper ground wire inside the wall outlet that you're using. These two problems are not related to each other.

Strange noise comes out from the ups after a power cut

The Back-UPS Office unit has five different tones or alarms:

1. Four beeps every 30 seconds (On Battery LED will be illuminated)
