When i turned on my DS lite it went to the action replay screen but there was no games entered so i tried to add the game it worked sort of when i put my game ID in for pokemon pearl the bottom screen started showing blue and red lines

try hooking it up to the charger, if that dosent work then just buy a new battery, if that still dosent work the i have no idea whats wrong. Hope that helps =)

I believe this question has been asked before. You should search before you ask for help. Regardless, the general solution seems to be that it is an LCD defect and you should be able to return it to Nintendo and they will repair it for free.

This sounds like the fuses on the logicboard have blown, you will have to take the back cover off to to have a look at the logicboard, the fuses are very small, you will need good soldering skills to replace them. here is a diagram of the logicboard and where the fuses are situated, they are marked F1 and F2:
Could you post back and tell me if the screens come on at all, if they do it might be your battery.
