Unable to use my HSPA USB2 modem with Vista Home Premium SP1, on my laptop

I own a Gateway MT6223b Laptop which has 2GB of memory, Ihave upgraded my O/S to VISTA HOME PREMIUM SP1, MY USB HSPA MODEM WILL NOT WORK WITH VISTA HOME PREMIUM SP1

    Have solved my problem using the following procedures.


        Unistalled the web'n'walk software using default "uninstall device" program software.

        Re-installed my O/S software "WINDOWS VISTA PREMIUM (with service pack 1), 32 bit software. Making sure that i had an internet connection before proceding with the install.

        Hey - presto, when installing my web'n'walk device following "autoset-up" steps, that it was running perfectley.

There is a VERY good chance that your USB HSPA Modem is not compatible/complient with Microsoft Vista. There are very few older parts on the market that are compatible.

You can also go to the manufacture web site of the HSPS modem and see if there are any Vista Drivers. If not, then you are out of luck.

Error states Spy Sweeper is not compatible with 64-bit operating systems.
This from the Webroot Web site on supported operating systems:

Windows Vista® (32-bit versions of Home Basic, Premium, Business, or Ultimate), Vista SP1 (32- and 64 bit versions of (Home Basic, Premium, Business, or Ultimate).

So, assuming you have bought the latest Spysweeper (and assuming you have Vista 64 bit) , then you need to upgrade your Vista to SP1.

If you get rid of Vista and put in 2gb of Ram your Laptop will not need 4 gb of ram.  You need to get it will not support double sided or ECC this is why you can not have 4gb you need 2GB kit (1GBx2), 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module
