If there's
a loud thumping noise during the spin cycle, the load of clothes has
probably gotten unbalanced. Open the lid, redistribute the clothes in
the washer, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.
We have had a neptune since 2005, it has wobbled since day one. When the drum is empty and you spin it you can see it spin in an elipse. Now it is burning into the rubber diaphram ( $150 shipping) at the front opening and smoking up the clothes. I just wasted $180 getting someone to look at it and replacing the water pump that was also broken, a coin had slipped down into it somehow.. Un balanced load has nothing to do with it. I will probably sell it on ebay and cut my losses. My mother bought an LG at the same time and has never had a problem. My model is made by samsung, I was told by the repair man that they are better than the actual Maytag models. They must all be junk.

If you machine is a FAV6800A or FAV9800A don't worry about the last two letters of the model number.

I've tried that. I've tried various load sizes and types and nothing works. Seems that any weight in the washer causes it to wobble.
