Kenmore Freezer Temp. Alarm

Temp Alarm come on for no reason. The freezer is cooling and all seems to be working. If you turn the temp control up or down a notch the lite will go out, but it returns later (1-6 hours later). Door seal looks great and I find no leaks even with mp IR temp sensor. The data sheet shows an "Electronic Module" in the wiring, and I guess the temp sensor is located inside it.

Any Help

You should get a thermometer to be sure the temp is what it should be. With out it is very hard to tell correct temp.

Temp alarm come on, yet temp (fan blowing and cold air) working. Turn the temp control just a notch up and immediately the temp lite goes out. Later it will start up again. It seems the freezer is working fine, just the temp moritoring system is malfuncting.

I can't turn my Kenmore upright freezer on.

Try disconnecting power for about 30 seconds, and then restore power. This will reboot the control and maybe restart.

Temp Alarm going off, when freezer seems to be cooling fine.

You need to check the temp in the freezer to make sure it's down to around 10 degrees. The alarm will go off much above that.

Temp alarm going off and things are starting to thaw...

Check to see that the temp control is working (turning on the compressor). You also can have a bad start device on the compressor so it's not turning on reliably. Worst case is there is a leak and the refrigerant has leaked out and no longer cooling. If you can hear/feel the compressor running (should be warm/hot to touch) and you have no cooling then you have that sealed system problem (no refrigerant gas left)
