When I turn the box on, it says new channels detected and after the search process has been completed, within a few seconds the same autocue saying new channels detected appears on the screen. Therefore, it is impossible to watch or record anything through the digi-box. Any ideas?
I have the same problem, the freeview box keeps searching for new channels. If something is set to record, when you come to watch the recorded programme, you end up with the hours of the search new channels screen.

Looks like you have missed the final software updates for the PVR72xx and 62xx series last year. The bad news is that Sagem are not likely to send another update for their old models. If you check your box settings and you have software version 0.4.5. or less, your box will probably not work again. Sorry, mate...
The Sagem PVR 6280 is specifically listed as a model which will have problems with the retune.
See the address below for a chart of affected models, but the official advice is that you must contact Sagem directly on 0845 0900 316 for either an over the air update or an update DVD depending upon the manufacturer.
I think that you must be referring to the security PIN code for your box as no code is needed for the update itself. Sagem use a default PIN code of 1234 and a few use 1111. If these don't work then search for others but ultimately there is a jumper switch inside the unit on the main circuit board which can be used to clear the PIN code. Note that if you do this on a DIY basis then you should ensure the unit is physically disconnected from the power supply and that you use an anti static mat or wrist strap to prevent damage. If you get a professional to do this expect to pay at least £30 - £40; this is around half the cost of the box when it was new and it will not still allow you to successfully update.
The Sagem PVR 6280 is specifically listed as a box which will have updating problems, so DO NOT update it yet if you wish to avoid loss of functionality. The official advice is to phone Sagem directly on 0845 0900 316 to see if they have a fix yet, but as thousands of their boxes are affected the phone line is very busy this week.
Please see the address below for the official list of affected Freeview boxes:-
You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/ If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box. When that happens its most likley you had a power outage and the box reset. Well kinda reset but not all the way. You can unplug the power and wait about 10sec and plug it back in and wait a few min to a few hours, and If that doesn't work get a new box.

I moved flats 2 days ago. In my old flat I could get 96 channels with the free view box. However, in the new one I get only 5.
Plus, in the old flat, every time I switched TV on it used to search for new channels. In the new one it does not do that.
Any idea what to do?
