Hi.
it sounds like the bearings in the motor are worn out. the only solution is to change the motor, or the entire hoover. motors are available from ebay for about £35 and it will then need to be fitted. unfortunately these bearings do wear out eventually. once they start to make screeching noises like this, there is not much life left in them, and they will get worse rapidly.
if you decide to change the motor yourself, please feel free to ask for more details on how to do it.
hope this helps

Where is the brush belt on a dyson 07 upright vacuum?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

The type of belt mechanism will depend on which model of DC07 you own. If you have a DC07 machine without the brush control feature, the user-replaceable belt is located within the cleaner head:
http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc07/dc07-standard/maintaining-your-dyson-machine/change-the-belt1/belt-fitting-preparation

However, if your DC07 includes the brush control feature (you should see the Carpet/Hard floor dial on the cleaner head), your machine will use a clutch mechanism with belts engineered to last for the lifetime of the machine in normal use.

If you have a DC07 with brush control and would like some help with it, please contact us directly by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

High pitched sound when beater bar is engaged

Hi,

Switch the machine off at the wall. Take plug out the socket.

Take a 2 pence peice and unscrew the 3 plastic screw on the bottom. In here you will probably find a build up of dirt etc. This dirt also gets into the fine tuning of the brushbar.

Take some WD40 and spray this on the moving partsm aking sure you het the edges, nooks and crannies.

I am losing suction and it sounds as if there is a leak in the vacuum(I hear air rushing around). There is also a high pitched noise. Dyson dc07. Can there be leaks in the gaskets where you clean hoses and...

It wont be a gasket problem - they don't tend to fail.
A high-pitched noise can be a number of different things. That is too vague to diagnose on here with the description you have given. Can you be more specific?

High pitched whining sound when vacuuming. Stops when handle is in an upright position. Thank you.

the high pitched whining is most likely the belt and it stops when you put the handle up because the roller bar is not engaged when you put up the handle. If it is the belt making that noise it will most likely break soon and you will need to put a new one on. Hope this helped...good luck

Dyson motor making high pitched noise. Is this

Most likely, there's something in the dirt tube. Ic could be something like a piece of paper or cellophane, vibrating from the air going over it. without hearing it, a high pitch noise could be different things.

Bissell lift off vacuum about 4yrs old. Extremely noisy. OK until before Christmas but getting worse every time it's used. Washable filters washed, HEPA filter replaced. brush bar cleaned of every scrap,...

Sounds like a bad motor bearing. If it is, then you would have to replace it. Could be the brush roll, did you check the ends to make sure they turn easily?

High pitched screeching/broken handle release

For the handle problem, detent lever part #2030052 and costs $4 to $5. A bearing in the motor is what is making it sound bad, part #2032211 and will cost around $60. You could try bissell.com or call them. They can at least let you know who has Bissell parts near you.

High pitch

Sounds like you have a clog. Make sure the filters are clean, replace if it has been more then a year, check the inlet down by the brush roll, your clog maybe there.
