Refrigerator GE Model GSS23QTAWW. Freezer temp at 0 deg F frig temp at 35 deg after remove frost from back of freezer. After a day frost builds up in freezer & temp increases. Suggestions.

Before replacing any part make a thorough check of the heater, freeze sensor, and the defrost timer coil or contacts. If contactsopen and closes when you rotate the timer manually, contacts are okey. If the coil have no resistance, it is defective. Replace the timer by unscrewing the two metal screws holding the timer. Make sure to install the terminal lug clips to the correct location and rescrew the new defrost timer. For heater, remove the terminal clips and remove the clamps holding the heater. Install the new heater and fix the desired clamps then connect the terminal lug clips. Freeze sensor should close contact when frozen. If the sensor does not contact when frozen replace the freeze sensor.

Evaporator coils icing up

The only possible source of water to freeze on the coils in such a short time is from the outside atmosphere. Check the door seals.

Coils freezing due to dust blocked coils and or air filter or short of gas. Service your unit completely. Please do not change any spare/s without knowing exact problem. Please follow the steps given below.

Toget proper heat, keep your temp setting at 30+ degree and also mode in "heat"position. If still no heat, check your heating sensor for closed circuit by anOHMs metre. It it's with RV, check power to RV.If it's with heatingelement check power to element. If power is there but still no heat meanselement defective. Replace new heating element. Thanks. To get proper cool, keep the tips as follows:
1. Check air filter is cleaned. 2. Check indoor coil is cleaned. 3. Checkindoor blower motor is working. 4. Keep in cool mode. 5. Set temp minimum 3degrees less than room temp.6.Check compressor is working with correctpressure.

Sounds like a defrost problem.
Check Defrost heater around bottom of freezer coils.
Check Defroat Thermostat at top of coils.
This might be something that requires a service man.

Fridge temp is set on 1 and milk and eggs are still freezing.

This is a common problem and it has to do with the electronic temperature sensor. Check with Sears to see if there is either a recall or a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for your model. They may try to get you to buy a new circuit board, but the solution is actually the temp sensor itself. (www.searspartsdirect.com) will give you the scematic as well as the part number. Just enter your model and press enter.

also check defrost timer, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

Whirlpool Model # GB2SHTXTS00 refrigerator not cooling. it has bottom freezer...coils in the freezer are icing up... I checked the heater, and stat ohmed ok.i ran the service test everything appeared...

Sounds like the defrost timer is not tracking the time properly. The unit needs to defrost once every 6-8 hrs. in order to work. Make sure the inside (evaporator) fan is running ok. If it rund for a few days and then warms up in the refrigerator section (coil iced), then the defrost timer is the culprit.

Samsung fridge RS2545SH every 7 days freezes fridge coil.

Hey how yo doing? on most refriderator there are two important parts to keeping freezer from freezing over, they are the bimetal thermostat and ice pipe heater. The bimetal therostat is a preset thermostat that ranges from 54degrees farenheit to about 60, when the coils (inside the freezer compartment behind the back panel) reach the preset temp. it closes a circuit and send electricity to the ice pipe heater, to warm the freezer coils preventing from freezing over. if any one of those components fail, your freezer will continue to freeze solid until there is no more space for ice to build on coils decreasing air flow from the evaporator fan blowing air into your fridge. To test you will minor knowledge on using a multimeter.(REMEBER TO UNPLUG REFRIDGERATOR BEFORE SERVICING, IF YOU UNCOMFORTABLE WORKING ON APPLIANCE PLEASE CONTACT A PROFFESIONAL REPAIR SERVICE..) If you'd like to continue please respond.
GOOD LUCK, WORK SAFELY..
