Unplug the TV/VCR/DVD Combo from the main power for a couple of minutes, the unit may eject the tape at the power ON. You can also try openening the unit, reset the loading posts and eject the tape by manually turning gears, motors etc..You have to know what you're doing otherwise, you will do more damage or get injured and don't forget HIGH VOLTAGE CAN KILL. Hello
Check with an other new disc. Check it with other disc that was running smoothly before. It that disc aslo not reads well, make sure that either its Laser assembly Lens is dirty, or the laser assembly itsef has damaged. Check it with an audio CD and MP3. If these work well and only it does nor reads DVD only, the fault is with lased assembly itsef. Put a head cleaning disc in to it and play it for two times. If this helps you, the lased head unit was dirty. If this also does not helps you, the Laser Pickup Assemby is defective and should be replaced with identical in both number and type. OK.
Unplug the TV from the wall, leave unplugged for a day or two, the TV may reset itself. You will lose all the programmed channels and may be other stored settings. The best is to get a universal remote for $10 or less.
