I have a Uniden 508ghz expandable phone system with digital answering system that is 7 years old and I'd like to replace some of the handsets as sometimes they cut out during conversations and I can't hear the other person. They can usually hear me. But its like they hit their mute button. Obviously they did not. I've changed batteries recently and it did not help this issue. I need to know what handsets are compatible with this unit so I can replace them. The base and charging units work just fine. I'd only like to replace the handsets. [Uniden TRU8885 5.8 GHz Digital Expandable Cordless Phone with Answering System and Dual Keypads (Black/Silver)] Thank you for your assistance.

How do i take handsets off silent mode?

Since you declined to specify the model of your Uniden cordless phone I can only suggest that you select if from the list beginning here if it's a 5.8GHz phone or from the list beginning here if it's a DECT 6.0 phone as mentioned in your other post.

Add extra handsets to Uniden 5.8Mhz

first thing to try.... place each handset into the base of the system you want them to be on.... and watch the charging light... it should flicker... the phone may work then... do that with all the phones..... also what is the make and model of the unit you already had.

And if you don't already have it... here is the user guide for that phone system.

How to set up uniden phone to base

If the handset has previously worked with the base - press the hangup button and the # key at the same time on the handset for five seconds and follow the prompts to deregister the handset. (System reset - deregister HS - which handset) It will tell you that the handset is deregistered. Then put the handset onto the base and it will register the handset.
