Yes, there are ways for you to retrieve your lost photos back from a camera memory card as long as these photos are not overwritten by anything new on it.
What you should do is really simple:
Firstly, stop using this camera memory card immediately in case that any new file would overwrite your original photos and make them gone permanently. So, you should take care!
Secondly, plunge this phone to your computer and prepare to retrieve all your deleted pictures.
Thirdly, apply a photo recovery freeware to retrieve all your lost photos back successfully:
http://sd-card-format-recovery.blogspot.com/2013/11/recover-sd-card-after-formatting.html
I believe this data recovery freeware can work perfectly on your phone memory card just in the same way as it completely retrieves all the deleted data of my friend off from his phone memory card.
Just give it a shot here: http://www.4cardrecovery.com/
Fourthly, save and back up all the restored photos on a different memory card or drive in case of data recovery failure.
Note: Never forget to back up everything important at least on two memory cards or locations in the future.
Good luck!

Have you restored anything new on this camera after the formatting process?
In fact, nowadays, the deleted files on a camera are not actually destroyed immediately after the formatting process. They are still there and become invisible. So, act carefully to get these deleted files back:
1. Stop using this camera before you are ready to restore your inaccessible files.
2. Plunge this camera to your computer.
3. Download a camera memory card data recovery freeware to retrieve all your lost files back.
This professional data recovery freeware has helped many people around me restore their inaccessible data off from a phone/camera memory card or hard drive. It could be a good choice for you to go on.
Try to read more detailed information of this camera data recovery freeware here:
http://www.formatrecovery.blogspot.com/2013/02/recover-data-after-formatting.html

4. Do not save or back up all the restored data on the same memory card in case of any data recovery failure.
Next time, you should always be careful to your important data and remember to back it up well in case of similar data recovery problems.

Download a free trial of CardRecovery. When you run the program, you will know if any of all of the files are recoverable. You will probably be amazed by the resulted. It really can do (and did for me) what it says it can do: "It can effectively recover lost, deleted, corrupted or formatted photos and video files from various memory cards.

Hi:
On computers you can retrieve deleted files and pictures.
If you format the disk all will be lost. All will be lost unless you use special programs to recover the files and data.

On digital cameras when you format the card, all is lost. Unless there is some kind of program to use on a computer, I know of nothing and no way to recover anything on formatted memory cards for digital cameras.
Formatting erases permanently with no way to recover.
Always make absolutely sure that you want to format the memory card.
Here are some links which you can try. I have not tried any.

I am trying to download from my computer onto my new mp610-g and when trying to play the downloaded files, get the format error. what do i need to do?

Hello,
The support site for the MP610 can be reached here:
http://www.cobyusa.com/?p=prod&prod_num_id=212&pcat_id=1001
Under Downloads there's:
A firmware update for File Sys Error and a video converter for converting videos before transferring them to the player.

To get the matching formats for the player:

1. Get the video converter for the MP610:
http://www.cobyusa.com/files/software/VideoConverter_MP610.exe
For getting this execute file right click it and select "Save Target As..." for saving it to location on the computer. Use the converter
for all videos before transferring them to the player.

2. Use the Coby Media Manager for transfers of all media.
A download for this Media Manager can be found here:
http://www.digdash.biz/product/coby/coby_media_manager/install/coby-mediamanager-2009b0924.exe
For getting this execute file right click it and select "Save Target As..." for saving it to location on the computer. After that run the execute file to install Coby Media Manager.

For a setup of your player in the manager:
Run Coby Media Manager
Select in Tools > Device Manager... in the devices list the MP610.
Add the MP610 to the favorite devices.
To setup the output file format for the MP610 select under the DEVICE menu in Coby Media Manager the Device configuration.
Setup format for video is MTV (cannot be changed for the MP610)
Setup format for audio is selectable 96 kbps; 128 kbps; 192 kbps.

When this information helped, I'd appreciate your vote.

Formatting memory stick.

You can use the MEMORY FORMAT functions to completely delete all images and options on the Memory Card, including protected images. * The format function restores the Memory Card to its initial state. * The Memory Card supplied with this camcorder has been formatted already. Attention If you execute the MEMORY FORMAT function, all images will be erased completely and erased images cannot be recovered. 1. Set the mode switch to MEMORY CARD. 2. Set the power switch to PLAYER mode. 3. Press the MENU button. 4. Turn the MENU DIAL to highlight MEMORY and press the ENTER button. The sub menu will appear. 5. Select FORMAT from the list and press the ENTER button. 6. "ALL FILES ARE DELETED! FORMAT REALLY?" appears on the screen. 7. Using the MENU DIAL, select the item. NO : To return to previous menu YES : To start formatting. 8. Press the ENTER button. If you selected the YES, COMPLETE! appears on the screen when the MEMORY CARD formatting is finished. 9.
