This player sucks. both me and my mother had this player and both of them just died completly. all it says is that i have to format the player but when i connect it to the computer it gets stuck on "formatting" and nothing happens. I totally given up this player and bought a sandisk one. at least sandisk takes responsibility for their players.

Believe it or not, to reset the unit you need to remove the battery for a couple of hours. I had the same problem and this solution worked for me. Good luck!

My mp3 from time to time would shut off or the screen would go black and won't shut off.

Same problem I had awhile back, make sure you don't have a memory card inside the player when you turn it on. It boots up in an incorrect order and doesn't start. To turn it off when it's stuck in that position I believe I held the sliding power button to "On" for 15 seconds.

I just put in a brand new 4gb MicroSDHC card into my Sansa SanDisk Plus & plugged it into my computer. Now its stuck on "Refreshing your media" & I can't even shut it off. Help?

Remove the microSDHC card. Disconnect the Sansa from the computer. Press and hold the power button for fifteen seconds to reset the Sansa.

Be aware that the e200 series of Sansa media players do not work with microSDHC cards, only with microSD cards.

Can not turn off. Screen stuck on "SanDisk" logo

Take the back cover off and remove the battery. If there's a memory card in it, remove it also. Let it sit for a minute and put the battery back in and turn it on. If it still doesn't turn on and locks up, then take the battery out and plug it into your computer with the battery out. Copy everything from the device and format it. Unplug it from the computer and put the battery back in and see if it turns on.

When i switch on my sansa it wrote refresh datebase

Take out the MicroSD card. Turn it on. When it comes on, turn it off. Clean the contacts on the card and reinsert. Then try turning it on again and see if that does it.

Adding a 8GB MICRO SD card to the Sansa e260

I read somewhere that a 4 GB Micro SD card is the largest you can put in the SanDisk Sansa E260 expansion slot. It's maximum capacity is 8 GB, with internal + external memory put together. This is from what I've read. Hope this helps.

MicroSD upgrade

You can add more storage memory for your device by using microSD cards. You can plug the microSD card into the slot provided on the player and then store your files on the card. If you had a 1GB player and added a 1GB card you've effectively doubled your memory. That's probably the memory upgrade you're thinking about.

My player won't turn on!!!

The m25 will not power on if LOCK/UNLOCK is in the locked position. If you press the POWER button, a padlock will appear on the LCD to remind you that the unit is locked. Confirm that the LOCK/UNLOCK switch is not in the locked position and press POWER to turn it on. If nothing happens after pressing the POWER button, the battery is probably discharged.
