I want to change my safe to key open only. Please advise how this can be done. The safe door is now open. We want to eleminate the combination lock and use key to open. Wife and I do not want to deal with and get the combination open. ONLY OPEN BY TURNING THE KEY. DO NOT WANT THE COMBINATION....AS IT IS HARDER AND HARDER FOR US TO FIGURE OUT COMBINATION....WANT TO OPEN WITH KEY ONLY. PLEASE DO NOT TELL US TO TAPE THE COMBINATION DOWN...     The Model # is 9063 Brinks Safe. The Serial # is 98114251. The Key # is 3218.

    I want to open with key only, no drilling or taping combination, so key will open (NO COMBINATION NEEDED OR COMBINATION TAPED.

    Your Brinks Fire Safe Model 5059 was changed to a Honeywell Model 2054 some years ago and the Manual is at the link below.

    limited periods during the day, you may choose to keep the commbination

    positioned on the last number and lock only the keylock. However, the safe

    is not fully locked until spinning the dial.



    You may want to keep the combination in a safe place just in case it does ever get moved.





    If you require any further assistance then please just ask.

Sentry Safe 1250. How to change the combination please?
Safes with dials are a little more complicated. NEVER close the door after changing the combination. Practice the opening sequence with the door open. If you did it wrong, you can reset and try again

Pilot CB016 safe lost combination!
This appears to be a safe made in Thailand, whereas we are in North America. This link might work better for you, but basically all electronic safes work the same. There is normally a red reset button inside the door behind a cover. Press the button, put in the new combination and it beeps. Check the combination opens the bolts with the door open and the job is done. Change the batteries beforehand.

My sentry safe door is open, but the handle will not turn to lock the safe! also the combination dial will not turn! help
That is a puzzle.

If the handle won't turn, it means it is locked, but you say it is open. Are the locking bolts on the side of the door in or out? But if it is locked (bolts out), the dial should turn both ways.

You don't by any change have a key inserted into the back of the door? There is normally a key inside that allows you to change the combination numbers.

You don't see many with dials these days. Remove the inside door cover and see if you can see something amiss.

Jsh digital safe ...... I changed the batteries in my safe today and not when I try to enter a code all I get is “no date” on the screen ? Can anybody please help

How do I change the combination on a door key safe
Once it is already OPEN there is probably something side the safe and on the back side of lock access that will allow you to change the combination. I do not know the model number but this is standard practice so that one must know the current combination to reset it to a new one. Specifically how would be in your manual. The key would allow the over ride to access this recombination. I have a digital door lock that works similarly and you can either enter the numbers or use a key to unlock it unlike a analog safe it has both a master code (which allow the ability to create new codes or delete old codes) and an access code.

Manual for stramm digital electronic safe manual
The Stramm safe we have is a small one that we use to store keys for our drivers. To change the combination, open the safe with the current combination. Sorry, can't help you if you don't know that. Inside the door is a plastic panel covering the batteries. Pinch the plastic catch at the top and open the panel. There is a small red button which you can press to change the combination. When you press it, you will hear a double beep. Enter your desired new combination. The trick is that the last digit must be either an "A" or a "B" which signals the end of your combination. For example, if you want your new combination to be 123456, you can't do that. The closest you can come is 123456A or 123456B. Hope this helps. Steve, Mbeya, Tanzania

How do I open the combination lock to my sentry home safe?
Locksmiths advise these Opening instructions for sentry fireproof electronic security safes. Insert the tubular sentry key into the lock to the left of the key pad. Turn the key all the way to the right until the plunger pops out. Press the five-digit factory code. The green Proceed light will come on. Pull the handle down; to crack the sentry door open.

Turn the dial to zero.
Turn the dial to the left (counterclockwise) four times to the first number of the combination (pass the first number of your combination three times, stopping on it the third time).
Turn the dial to the right (clockwise) three times to the second number of the combination (pass your second number twice, stopping on it the third time).
Turn the dial to the left (counterclockwise) two times to the third number of the combination (pass the third number of your combination one time, stopping on it the second time).
Turn the dial to the right to the last number (stop the first time on your last number).
Pull the handle down to crack the sentry safe open.

Can't open sentry v260 safe
Make sure you are inserting key so the round hump on key matches red dot on lock, and turn key clockwise.

If that doesn't fix it, SentrySafe's support number is 1-800-828-1438.

I would think they can confirm the combination from your serial number. They probably won't give you the combination without a notarized letter, but if you have the right combination for that serial number safe, they may confirm that you are entering the right combination.

Be aware the 4 number combination V260's are changeable and if you HAVE changed it, you are on your own, they can't help you. The 3 number combinations are not changeable.
