SOURCE: Trying to scan, but keeps on saying "USB not connected" BEWARE SPAM NUMBER 1-800-532-4187

I had the same problem.  The thing is I was pressing the scan button on the printer and getting the lovely "USB not connected" message.  However, if you open the printer icon in the dock (Mine is "HP Photosmart C4200 series") and click the Scanner button in the upper right hand corner, then click "New Scan," voila!  presto! and all is right with the world again.
Yes, it is obnoxious that HP made a defective scanner button, and I may download the driver again when I get a chance.  But yay for quick fixes!

SOURCE: how do i check printer ink levels for my hp c4280?

You must install the official HP solutions centre software that is an add-on with the full driver from the HP website. within the settings on the solution centre there is a "printer toolbox". That allows you to check. Damn annoying you have to install this other software just to check.
It can only check official HP cartridges aswell.

SOURCE: Trying to scan a document with an HP C4280 says

USB cable may be bad, try a new one and see if it helps.

These cables are normaly universal, check and see if you may have one from an old printer just laying around before buying a new one.

Hope this helps@

    What are lions"?"

In relation to your Mac, the "Lion" is the Operating System as part of the OS X (10) series and was the 7th released. This was then called OS X 10.7 Lion, released on July 20th 2011. Later, there was OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion released as the 8th series OS X.

10.7 carried with it the iCloud integration as Apple moved from MobileMe to this new "cloud technology" and the OS was the first to never be sold in Disc form. It was only available from the App Store as an electronic download and for a short time on USB. All OS X versions after 10.6 were all downloadable via the Mac App Store.

So the Lion is just the name of the Operating System on the Mac! It's like a car that's called a Jaguar, but this is in relation to the Software the computer is running!

3095's won't work with mac lion

The Brother HL-3095CW is a color laser printer that is not natively compatible with Mac OS X Lion.
However, there are a few ways to get the printer to work with your Mac:
    • Download and install the Brother printer driver for Mac OS X Lion from the Brother website.
    • Use the built-in AirPrint feature in Mac OS X Lion to print wirelessly to the Brother HL-3095CW.
    • Use a third-party software such as Gutenprint or CUPS to add support for the printer to your Mac.
    • Use a print server to connect the printer to your network and make it available to your Mac.
It's important to note that this printer was released in 2009 and Brother's support for this device and Mac Lion will be limited. It's recommended to check Brother's website to see if the printer model is compatible with the latest Mac OS version and the support for the printer model.
If you continue to have issues with getting the Brother HL-3095CW to work with your Mac, it would be best to contact Brother technical support for further assistance.

I updated to mac os 10 lion 10.7.4 since then my camera window does not work anymore

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Cant scan with my trusty old AGFA SnapScan 1212u with Lion OSX

I've got a solution where you won't spend any dime on it. It's a long road, but in few words, you need to install SANE for Mac, get the SnapScan1212U.bin file (you can get it from the Windows Installer), and a scanning software such as Snac for Mac, and/or Adobe Acrobat X.
I'll prepare a HOWTO only if someone really needs it.
    Greetings,Diego.

    No Mac driver

Get the older 3.X version of Nikon Scan online.
It works fine with my 4000ED Firewire on a MBP running OSX 10.6.
For some reason my 5000ED USB runs fine on NS 4.0.2 and 10.6 on an older iMac, but 4.0.2 won't run at all on the MBP. Don't know why. Installed, uninstalled and reinstalled many times. No luck.

IMac using o/s lion. Printer was saying off

    Hello Justin! Welcome to FixYa!

Actually With the release of OS X 10.7 Lion, HP is providing updated print drivers and software. These updates are available through Apple Software Update in Mac OS X: you do not need to download a driver from HP to use your product in Lion. After the public release of Lion, HP is releasing updated full HP software packages for many models on the HP Software and Drivers page. These software packages include the HP installer with network setup and HP Scan 3. The schedule delay allows time for full testing and quality assurance from HP against the final OS X 10.7 release.
Follow these steps to download and install the HP software in Lion OS X 10.7 for a USB connection.

Turn On your Printer and MacConnect your printer to the Mac with a USB cable (If you get a prompt to download software, click Not Now , and then continue with these instructions.)Click the Apple menu and then click Software Update . Software Update checks for available updates. In the Software Update window, if you see an available HP software update, select it and then click Install .
When prompted, enter your administrator account name and password. After the software updates complete, restart the computer (if required).

Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences .
Click Print & Scan. Click the plus sign, The name of your printer displays. Select your HP printer listed as a USB type, and then click Add . (You must choose the USB connection type for a USB-connected product.)
Click Install , and then click Agree on the software license agreement window to install the software and add the printer to the queue. After the installation process completes, verify that your printer displays in the queue.
(If the product was not added to the queue, Click the plus sign select your HP product, and then click Add)

Now you can use your printer.
I hope this solution helps you and you have clear picture in your mind now
Let me know if you have any confusion in your mind.

Sir, Your Rating as FIVE Stars for this solution and words of appreciation will be esteemed
Thank You for taking my service
