Just replaced my 1000 GPM Intex filter/pump with the 1500 GPM. Worked great for about two weeks. Now it doesn't pump much with the filter in. Seems to pump fine without the filter.

The filter needs to be cleaned. the cartridge should be removed from the housing and sprayed on the o with a hose and sprayer. A strong, concentrated jet of water works best. I hope this helps.

My Intex pump (sf 20110) has broken. Neighbor has a pump that will do 40-50 gpm (XL-VI pump model 16841 by Swimquip Inc.)with 3/4 hp AO Smith motor. Is this pump compatible with the sand filter?

The More Important Question... What sand filter do you have?
This model of pump will move around 35-55 gpm,
that may be too much for filter?
It can or will break the lateral drain assembly inside the tank, if flow is too great.
. Especially if it is an Intex brand.

This could be a flow problem and you will need to check your pump baskets for junk and make sure your filter is clean. Also you can check your flow switch to be sure it is working.

Same as others with Krystal clear model 635 pump.

We too have an Intex pool and opted to not waste money on their pumps which arent adequate enough to properly filter the pool. We bought a nice sand filter system off a great seller on amazon for $305 delivered. (DO NOT BUY "GAME" system for intex pools, my sister bought one and has had nothing but problems and just bought 5 weeks ago).

We are very happy with the results from our Waterway sand filter system. We did not have to buy any adapters to fit it to our pool. And it keeps the water perfect! We have an 18' x 52 metal frame pool. If you intend on using your pool for years, I recommend buying a sand filter system. It is more expensive than replacing the intex pump, but you will be much happier with the sand filter system.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Will not pump when it has a filter in it

filters are too good for pump system.

These pool pumps seam to over heat fast, no quick fix.

* Try getting more air flow around pump.
* Only use pump when using pool or near by.
* Use a pool cover - will help stop dirt/rubbish getting into pool - less to filter.
