With the latest update to the Xbox Dashboard available from Xbox Live®, you can change the default display mode of the Xbox Dashboard from 480i to 480p. Connect your console to the component inputs of a 480p-capable TV using an Xbox High Definition AV Pack toview the Xbox Dashboard in high definition. To get the latest Xbox Dashboard Using a Broadband connection and the Ethernet connector on the back of the console, connect your Xbox to the Xbox Live servers. When you do so, the latest version of Xbox Live, including the Xbox Dashboard, automatically downloads. You do not need to subscribe to Xbox Live for this update to automatically download to your Xbox. But if you don't have an Xbox Live account, get one! How do I remove a parental lock plz on xbox 360 if I don't know the code. It was on when I bought it.
You can give this a shot....

Turn off your 360 UnitRemove all memory devices

restart 360 Unit

go to system blade > Console Settings > System Info

press left trigger, right trigger, x, y, left bumper, right bumper, up, left bumper, left bumper, x.

This should bring up a menu

Reset System Settings

Resetting your system settingswill return all console settings tofactory defaults.

your screen should go blank for about 2 seconds then the language blade should appear that lists several different languages,select your preferred language then a blade that says "Xbox 360 Storage Device" should appear

With the options of
1) Done
2) Continue without one
select to Continue without a profile

Then an Initial Setup Complete screen should appear with the options of
Family Settings
High Definition Settings
Xbox Dashboard

select Xbox Dashboard

Now turn the system off, insert the Memory Unit or Hard Drive, and turn the system back on

Parental Control lock should be disabled

There is a switch that changes the video cable from SD( for use with older TV's without high definition connectivity) to HD (used for newer HD TV's with high definition.

If your older television is using a composite (yellow) connection for video, make sure the switch is in the SD position and NOT hd.

Note Some older TVs do not support PAL 60 Hz. If you do not know whether your TV supports PAL 60 Hz, contact the manufacturer of your TV or see the owner's manual.

I need more info, are you runnig High Definition? Are your cables connected properly? Is your TV working properly?
If you're running on a Standard Definition TV check the back of the Xbox and see if the video switcher says SD.

Xbox 360 no picture
Try looking on your AV Cable there is a setting for HDTV and TV if you have a High Definition tv use that setting but by the sounds of your issue i would say you dont and would go with the regular TV setting. Its right on the neck of the AV cable where it plugs into the game console. Let me know if this works for you.
