1997 Toro tractor. model 73363 s/n 7900346 Tractor will just die right in the middle of mowing. Had an issue with the PTO lever assembly. Replaced both micro switch relays. PTO lever was loose and replaced both nylon bushings and tension spring that connects to a cotter pin on the PTO linkage and seemed to fix the problem but it's back. I can engage the mower deck with the PTO lever but if I push it too far, the tractor will start to shut down. Also, put in a new battery. Are these symptoms familiar to this model? Advise will be apprieciated.

Hi, check whatever stops the pto lever from over travelling(metal stopper etc) for wear and watch the micro switch as someone pushes the pto lever to make sure its not over bending the metal strip on the micro switch. Ad vibration or heat may be doing the same thing while mowing. Regards Phil.

While mowing with my Craftsman lawn tractor I ran over a large root. The tractor stopped short and now it will not make a single sound when I try to crank it. The blades are free; what should I check?

A common interlock for tractors is that the engine will not crank if the PTO is engaged. Try disengaging the mower by shifting the PTO lever. Then try to start the engine. This is true for the Craftsman 27343; see page 16 of the manual: https://i.sears.com/s/d/pdf/mp-tc/10016091/prod_19327019812 .

Please add a comment with your tractor's full model number if you need the manual for your unit.

I hope this helps.

Can I get a picture of a 46" deck layout for a black mtd yard machine so I can c how the deck engagement cable go

Only seen one or two H decks here.
if it is this cable

then it connects to the RH brake assembly and the PTO engagement plate. There is also a spring that connects at the same point on the engagement plate to the right hand frame.

Kubota f3060 How do you release the pto to allow removal of the front mower deck

Releasing the PTO (Power Take Off) on a Kubota F3060 tractor to allow removal of the front mower deck can typically be done by following these steps:
  1. Park the tractor on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
  2. Locate the PTO engagement lever, it's usually located near the operator's seat or on the right side of the tractor.
  3. To release the PTO, move the engagement lever to the "disengaged" position.
  4. Once the PTO is disengaged, you should be able to remove the mower deck.
  5. To remove the mower deck, locate the lift lever, which is usually located near the operator's seat, and raise the mower deck to the highest position.
  6. Locate the deck attachment points, they are usually located on the front and rear of the deck.
  7. Remove any pins, bolts or clamps that are holding the deck to the tractor.
  8. Carefully remove the deck from the tractor.
It's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and use the right tools and equipment when working on the machine. If you are not familiar with the mechanical systems, it's best to take the machine to a qualified Kubota repair service center, they will be able to diagnose and fix the issue.

Look, lower deck as low as it will go, look above deck, under the tractor and pull any pins holding deck to the control arms etc., and remove belt sufficiently to slide deck out from below tractor, I advise you to take pictures to make assy. easy.

Cannot have blades engauged when in reverse mower stalls

Hello,

You are right, the mower has a disconnect for the pto when you try to mow in reverse. You need to turn the key to the mow in reverse position, and now you can mow going backwards.

Hope this helps, Matt

I have an old Cub Cadet lawn tractor model 2155, where the PTO clutch stops working after about 15 minutes of mowing. It will re-engage after it stops, but will only mow for a couple hunder feet before it...

I have a Cub Cadet 2155 lawn tractor that mows great, purchase in 1999, however it started heating up about an hour into mowing and then I have to shut it down until cools. I have replaced the air filter & that did not work ?
