The Sprint Evo is an Android smartphone capable of running applications in the background. It's best to close applications you aren't using, since running applications drains the phone's battery. Most apps allow you to close them through the menu inside the application, but if the app stops responding or has no close option, you can use the Force Stop function. Force Stop functions much like the Task Manager feature in Windows. It closes the app, but does not delete data or uninstall the app.

1. Press the "Menu" button from the main screen on the Evo.

2. Tap "Settings" and touch "Applications."

3. Select "Manage applications" and open the "Running" tab.

4. Locate the application you want to close and tap it.

5. Touch the "Force Stop" button to close the app.

I hope you find it very helpful. Thank you for using fixya.

I'm using an Android phone, with the GPS locator turned on.HuntStand says it can't find this device's location. What next?

Hi. You need to check if the app has permission to use the location services by your phone. To grant permission to app to use location (It depends on Android Phone used), Samsung: Go to Settings>Biometrics and Security>scroll down and look for Location> Turn it ON. There you can see the Apps that can use the location services.

How To Save Battery On Your iPhone or iPod Touch

<p><span><span> </span>Is your iPhone or iPod Touch's battery level always depleting quickly? Do you not have enough juice to get you through the day? Here are some quick tips to conserve your battery life and help you get through the day while you are Facebooking, sending texts, and calling.</span><br /> <p><span><span> </span>First, lets make sure you can monitor your batter level. This is how you will turn on the percentage of battery display.</span><br /> <p><span>1.<span> </span></span><span>Go to your home-screen.</span><br /> <p><span>2.<span> </span></span><span>Open up the Settings App.</span><br /> <p><span>3.<span> </span></span><span>Tap General then Usage</span><br /> <p><span>4.<span> </span></span><span>Where it says battery percentage, make sure the switch is in the on position.</span><br /> <p><span><span> </span>Now that you can monitor your battery life, here are a few things you should continually do to save battery.</span><br /> <p><span>&bull;<span> </span></span><span>Don't keep multiple apps running if you don't have to. iPhones and iPod Touches have multitasking to run multiple apps at once, but this can use a lot of battery. To delete tasks, double tap the home button and then hold down an icon at the bottom of the screen. Once the apps begin to wiggle, tap the X by the app to stop the task (note: this won't delete the app, it will only stop it from running).</span><br /> <p><span>&bull;<span> </span></span><span>Another battery saving setting is not fetching email quite as often, I mean, do you really need to check your email every 15 minutes or hour? Fetching data uses a lot of battery, to disable or not as frequently fetch for data, go to the Settings app again. Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars then Fetch New Data and set it to Manually so to check email, go to the email app and click the refresh button.</span><br /> <p><span>&bull;<span> </span></span><span>Your iPhone has an adjustable brightness, and a higher brightness wastes more battery, to change the brightness: go to your Settings app. Go to Brightness and turn your brightness down. You don't necessarily need to turn it all the way down(especially when you are in bright lighting conditions, kind of ironic that you need higher brightnesses in brighter environments), but if you are in a pitch black room, then there is no reason to have the brightness above the minimum level.</span><br /> <p><span>&bull;<span> </span></span><span>Another good habit is turning off bluetooth and wifi when you are not using them, to do this, go to your Settings app again. Go to Wi-Fi and turn of wifi. To turn of bluetooth, go to General then Bluetooth and turn it off.</span><br /> <p><span>&bull;<span> </span></span><span>If you don't necessarily use an app a lot or at all, turn off Push Notifications. To do this scroll all the way down on your Settings app, and choose that particular app. This will only be useful on an app that gets information from the internet. In the particular app that you chose, usually there will be a Push Notifications option, and you can disable this, this will help your battery because your iPhone constantly tries to search for data with these on. Also, when installing apps, you can disable this then.</span><br /> <p><span>&bull;<span> </span></span><span>Another good way to save battery (iPhone only) is to switch from the 3g(fast internet)radio to Edge(slower internet) radio. On the iPhone, you have twice as much battery with Edge radio. To change between the two, go to your Settings app once again. Go to General then Network and where it says Enable 3g switch it to off. You can/should do this when you aren't heavily surfing the internet, checking Facebook, or downloading apps. Don't use this with apps that require heavy internet usage.</span><br /> <p><span>&bull;<span> </span></span><span>One final tip to conserve battery is changing the amount of time until the iPhone/iPod Touch goes into sleep mode. If you forget to put it in sleep mode, it will stay on and waste battery in your pocket, etc. To change the amount of time to save battery, go to your Settings app again. Go to General then Auto-Lock and change it to something short such as 1 or 2 minutes.</span><br /> <p><span>These tips will significantly prolong your battery, use them to your advantage.</span><br />

Tech support

Manually delete app/s that you don't use or use so often and make more space on the phone.
> go to settings > then apps and scroll across for "downloaded apps"
Scroll through list of app and delete what u don't want(Some apps sometimes download without you knowing so check for those )
Then press on apps and find uninstall.
Some might say it will cause other apps not to function properly but if not using just get rid of it and remember its " downloaded apps " not what came with the phone.
You can also Download a cleaner from apps store e.g clean master and clean up dump files, caches etc. for more memory hence more speed.
Hope this helps.

How a you supposed to get ypu google play app working?

If you don't see the Google Play Store app or the app doesn't open:
Confirm you're using a supported Android device.
You may have hidden the app and need to re-enable it.
Turn off your device and turn it on again, then look for the app.

If it is not working, download and reinstall the Play app. Once properly installed, it works when opened.

How do I turn off google authenticator?

Hi
You may find the following works:-

Turning off 2-Step Verification

  1. Visit the Using 2-Step Verification page under your Google Account settings. Sign in with your username, password, and verification code if prompted.
  2. Click Turn off 2-Step Verification.
  3. A pop-up window will appear to confirm that you want to turn off 2-Step Verification. Click OK.

Revoking and destroying passwords and codes to protect your account

If you used App Passwords to authorize applications to access your Google Account, we recommend you go back to using passwords -- rather than App Passwords -- to access these applications. That way, you can revoke your App Passwords so nobody else can use them:
  1. Visit the Authorizing applications & sites page under your Google Account settings.
  2. Click Revoke for any application or device whose code you want to revoke.
  3. For each application that you revoked an App Password, you'll need to reauthorize the application by entering your username and password, as you did before you turned on 2-Step Verification. You might not be prompted for this information the next time you use the application as some applications will take longer to recognized that an App Password has been revoked.
In addition, remember to destroy all backup codes that you had been using to verify this account.

Good luck.

How do u turn off apps when u are not using

Depending on what OS is on the phone:
Press and hold the HOME button - your recent apps will display, then just swipe them to the left, and it closes them. You can also do this to select apps you have recently used - instead of swiping, just click on them.
If that does not work, there are apps available that manage the apps on your phone. Go to Google Play Store and search AppKiller, then browse the different ones available.

How to find overall search-- for all your apps-- on iOS 7. Also, how to turn off your apps to cut down on memory use.

First of all you should upgrade to IOS 7.2 which has many bug fixes that came with IOS 7.

To find apps you go to the app store and type in what you are looking for. The icon looks like a a ruler with a pencil in a blue triangle shape.
After you open it you will see a magnifying glass that says search.Hit that and you can type.
To turn off apps I don't really understand what apps you are asking about. Apps should not be running if you are not using them but maybe they are. You can go to settings and scroll down to see your apps then try to shut them off there or delete them if you don't need them. It's hard to advice when I can't see it in person but Hope this helps.
