My nokia e63 doesn't have ringing tone when somebody's calling me,no message tone whenever i received txt messages.. i also cannot hear the other line. can somebody pls help me...

Message tone and volume works together,so if you have your ring tone volume at the loudest level, the alert tone for messages will be at the loudest as well. If you want to adjust the volume follow these steps:
go to settings --> personal --> profiles --> choose any profile that you want to be activated on your phone --> options --> personalized --> ringing volume --> choose from volume 1 to 5 as the loudest --> press ok then click back once --> options --> activate

From there you are good to go.

i think is so that when u r on the fone and u receive a call, you will hear a beep instead of the caller getting a busy tone

Just check whether you have more than 2000 messages in your Inbox+Sent Items+Drafts+Outbox. Have heard that E72 cannot handle more than 2000 messages in the phone. Just try reducing the messages or backup to PC Suite.

Some how your phone was reset or had the tone turned off. Just follow the below guide and your audio should come back on. I would do a soft reset (turn off the handset, remove the battery then reinsert) before performing the instructions.

Tone settings
To select a ringing tone for voice calls, select Tones >
Ringing tone.
To select a ringing tone for video calls, select Tones > Video
call tone.
To set the ringing type, select Tones > Ringing type. You
can also set the device to sound a ringing tone that is a
combination of the spoken name of the caller and the
selected ringing tone, when someone from your contacts list
calls you. Select Tones > Say caller's name.
To set the volume level of the ringing tone, select Tones >
Ringing volume.
To set the various alert tones, select Tones > Message alert
tone, E-mail alert tone, Calendar alarm tone, or Clock
alarm tone.
To set the device to vibrate when you receive a call, select
Tones > Vibrating alert.
To set the volume level of the device keypad tones, select
Tones > Keypad tones.

When you make call use the left and right square key for increasing or decreasing volume.

Does the phone ring when you receive an incoming call? If so, press Menu go to Control Panel (or might be the profile is shown in the menu) after control panel, Profile then Options and then Personalize, then, scroll down and again select Message Alert Tone, set the Tone for the message. Also make sure that the volume is turned up. Save the settings and try again. If this doesn't help and you don't hear any ring tone during an incoming call, let me know after checking the sound settings.

Dear Friend jut check the settings in text message whether the message alert tone is still active or not.
Also chek the profile on which phone is active on,there may be an option in the phone which says the message tone settings.
And also check the tone settings on the mobile

make sure you have "txt messages" set to ring/vibe not "calls to line 1 ring/vibe"

Profiles
Warning: In the offline profile you cannot make or receive any calls, or use other features that require network
coverage. Calls still may be possible to the official emergency number programmed into your device. To make calls,
you must first activate the phone function by changing profiles. If the device has been locked, enter the lock code.

Select Menu > Tools > Profiles.
You can adjust and customize the ringing tones, alert tones, and other device tones for different events, environments, or caller
groups.
To customize a profile, scroll to the desired profile in the list, and select Options > Personalise.
Define the following settings:
• Ringing tone — Select a ringing tone from the list, or select Tone downloads to open a bookmark folder containing a list of
bookmarks for downloading tones using the browser. To listen to the selected tone, select Play. If you have two alternate
phone lines in use, you can specify a ringing tone for each line.
• Say caller's name — Activate the text-to-speech ringing tone feature. When someone from your contacts list calls you, the
device sounds a ringing tone that is a combination of the spoken name of the contact and the selected ringing tone.
• Ringing type — Select how you want the ringing tone to alert.
• Ringing volume — Select the volume level of the ringing tone.
• Message alert tone — Select a tone for received text messages.

Go on settings.ringtones,move mouse pointing down to get message setting and open gallery with tones some tones are ringing tones some for alert and messages. Just click on one of them and that's it.
If you have a troubleshooting call Nokia providers and ask them they can explain all.
