I am installing a new water pump for a 1999 Honda Accord and in the cooling system there is a lot of fluid like slim and rust I have ran water through the system letting it run through the water pump

did you open the rad drain and flush that way or take the hose off the bottom of the rad. sounds like you may have more than just water pump issues could be head gasket, take off oil filler cap there is white milky slime it could be head gasket make sure you locate the leak or it will all be coming apart again anyway. make sure the timing marks are correct when you put it back together

Pentax smart head

Check the pressure switch. Be sure you have enough water available. Check for a leak. What are you pumping. Is it pumping. I am not familiar with this pump so I am just listing some points to check. If it is a submersible well pump it can develop a lot of pressure.
