We have a dometic frig in our RV that runs on either electric or gas. Can I run it on gas while driving to the campground or do I just turn it off until we arrive?

The dometic is designed to run down the road in the gas mode, but NEVER fill you LP tank with you unit switched on, in either the gas or AC mode. Make sure you shut everything down before filling the tank!

I have a issue with my 2 Dometic DuoTherm air conditioners. The rv is a 2014 Palamuno Saber 50 amp fifthwheel. Ok. They cool very well but at different random times the compressor shuts off while the fan...

how long a power cord do you have and what size conductors are in it. when a a/c shuts down do to thermostat reaching its setting then trys to start back up shortly the pressures dont have time to equalize resulting in high amp draw. if fans runs all the time instead of shutting off with compresser it will call for cooling fast. i have a 2003 cardinal with 2 a/c's the smaller one has a continous fan & the larger one cycles fan with compressor. i have power cord rated for 50 amps. 110 to 115 is still a low vooltage condition.

Action 1: My RM2652 runs well on auto mode when its indicator's light is lit. Auto mode is an electric mode, right? Action 2: When I press on the "gas" button, the indicator's light next to the "auto"...

Auto mode is electric 1st then gas. If no 110v is available it tries to light the gas. Do you have gas & is it turned on? You should hear a clicking from the back of the frig. Make sure the air is purged out of the system by lighting your range and let the burners come on for 30 sec or so. You might have to cycle the frig on & off a couple of times after you purge the air. Set the button to "gas only".

I am new to the RV world. I have Dometic DM2652.

Yes, you can operate the fridge on propane while driving, instead of running the generator for electric operation. However, you should have a dual tank setup to prevent running out of propane.

Propane tanks with OPD valves aren't holding a true 20 lbs of LP, but rather only hold 17-18 lbs of LP. However, if you're swapping/exchanging your tanks instead of having them refilled, you're only getting 15 lbs of LP in the tanks these days, (check the label at the bottom of the tank to confirm). Hence the reason to have a dual tank setup on your RV to get longer run times.

I thought you might want to have a tech manual for your fridge, so here's a link to the Dometic site, you just need to select yours based on the manufacture date, etc.
