I have a Fuji FinePix A 205 camera and replaced the 16mb card that came with the camera with a 256mb card. I can take lots more photos and SHOULD be able to record a longer movie but can unfortunately only get a movie as long as the original 16mb would allow (80 secs at 160 x 120 resolution - the lowest setting). It's as though the camera doesn't know that the card is 256mb when in movie mode but does know in still photo mode. Very strange. I formatted the card but still get the same result - only 80 seconds. The manual says I should get approx 90 minutes!

The manual I'm reading is the Owner's Manual that came with the camera. It is also available online from Fuji at this link: http://www.fujifilmusa.com/shared/bin/A2...

In the specifications section (p. 79 in the manual, p. 40 in the pdf file) the length of movie is listed as:
    - 16mb card: 98 secs in high resolution and 5.6 mins in low resolution.
    - 256mb card it is listed as 26.7 minutes high res and 91.2 minutes low res.

I realize these are approximations but still, 80 secs is way lower than anything listed for a 256mb card (which the camera has) and even lower than the supposed 5.6 minutes I should get in low res even if the camera stupidly thinks it only has a 16mb card..

I don't know what manual you're reading but the camera will only record 80 seconds at the lowest resolution. This is a very old camera that still uses the now extinct XD card. If movies really interest you, consider getting a new camera. The new models have literally hundreds of new features that I'm sure you will really like.

How many pic can i get with 16mb xd picture card

The number depends on the resolution and image quality. It will also depend on the subject. See the table on page 85 of this manual. Thirty is about right for 1- or 2-megapixel photos.

Can i charge with USB cord to dock and comp

Fuji FinePix Z2 Digital Camera

lens retracts fully into the body and is protected by an automatic metal cover - no more lost or dangling lens caps.
The F410 Zoom makes use of the new xD-Picture Card media that is smaller than a postage stamp. Fuji supplies a 16MB card and they are available now up to 256MB. The F410 is powered by a small proprietary lithium rechargeable battery. This battery pack performed well in our use and if the color LCD is used sparingly, I see no problem with the battery delivering enough power for a conservative day's use. As with any camera that uses a proprietary battery pack, it is always a good idea to purchase and carry a charged spare at all times. The included power supply / charger is an auto switch type and operates on 100-240V AC which is convenient when traveling. It charges the battery in 3 hours (or less) while in the camera and also functions as an AC power supply for extended use at home. The battery is also charged any time the camera is placed in the optional camera dock.

Can i use sdhc class 4 or 6 cards in my fuji finepix 6900zoom

The FinePix 6900 Zoom uses SmartMedia (3.3v) for image storage, and a 16MB card is supplied with the camera. Upgrades are available up to 128MB. The entire SmartMedia card can be write-protected by placing a small sticker on the indicated area of the card. Write-protection stickers can only be used once, and they must be clean to be effective. Individual images can be protected through the Playback menu, which prevents them from being accidentally deleted (except through card formatting).

Memory card

Fuji uses 16MB xD card with the camera, which won't hold too many 4 Megapixel photos at the highest quality setting. So you should plan on buying a larger card right away. xD cards are currently available as large as 1GB, and I think 128MB is a good starter size for most people. Be warned that xD cards tend to be more expensive than CompactFlash and SD cards.
