No sound I have a Hp Compaq 945GCT-HM Motherboard i have allready install the soundcard driver but still no sound, but in the device manager is allready no yellow Question mark. Right click my computer then properties then hardware then device manager then see if the sound drivers are installed properly if not installed properly you will see a question mark if disable you will see red X id disable enable the if the driver is marked with yellow question mark then reinstall the driver if the driver is installed and no marks indicated go to the speaker icon in the task bear and open the volume control and see wether mute is enabled if enabled disble them

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers

sound driver has not been installed....use the cd that came with the notebook and install the sound driver that's on the motherboard....
else locate what's the sound card chip on the motherboard and download from internet...
to get full info of your computer details downlaod belarc advisor from net and install it and run the test in that....it will give you full details of you machine....
then look for the soundcard details and downlaod the driver for that...and install it......Device Manager will help you do it...

Before installing the sound driver, you must install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Buss Driver for High Definition Audio of your soundcard. For more information about this driver, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 888111

chipset driver

click on the link and download the Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility. that will solve the problem. hit me back on the results. if there are other missing drivers you'll also find it there, like the VIDEO, LAN and AUDIO those are the built it devices on the borad.

Goto your device manager

-start; control panel; system; click the hardware tab; device manager

Expand sound,video, audio controllers

Click update drivers on whichever ones you downloaded recently.

Also in the control panel, goto sounds and audio devices.

Set your new soundcard to default in your hardware tab, and change your audio setup if needed.
