This comes up frequently. In my tips and tricks page is a link to the www.schwinn.com instruction manual download page. But they are most likely the same instructions you have already got. There are no other specific instructions for building.
So what is the best method of assembly? Not much beyond taking the project to your local bike shop and having them assemble it, Fees vary on this but it is the most effective method to make sure the bike/ trike is assembled correctly and safe to operate. Or you can find a friend that has some mechanical knowledge and maybe even owns one and can help.
Poor instructions are the norm, sorry. If you get the majority of the bike together you can post specific questions along the way and the community may be able to help solve that specific issue.
www.schwinn.com has all the manuals and even written and video instructions on assembling and using their bikes. Here is the direct link to your bicycle's page. Under the resources tab is the information about assembly. If this still is not enough, call or email customer service and they can send you one and help with any specific questions regarding their bike.
Not sure what you mean by adjust. Do you need to shorten or lengthen the chains length? If so then you will need a special chain tool.
If you are simply trying to align the chain better, then here is a link to Schwinn where they have owners manuals, assembly instructions and more on your bicycle. Even some cool videos.
