Presuming that you have iliminated the possibility of any metal objects that are not meant to be in the machine being in there (and this includes dishes and other items with silver or gold leaf on them, which WILL spark and burn!) then take a look inside the oven its self. You will find a waveguide cover. It is usually a strange flakey silvery plastic/card like material called Mica and is usually on the same side of the microwave wall as the control panel (So if the picture on this thread is accurate, I will guess the Mica cover is on the right hand wall inside as you look at the machine from the front) . Over time, the magnatron (the thing that creates the microwave energy) will often burn a hole through the mika, or cause a dark brown or black burn mark in it. If this cover is even slightly damaged then it may well cause sparking inside the machine. These covers are designed to be removed and you can buy replacements for them from electrical stores.

replace the de-fuser panel with a new one
and try again
if your getting sparking around the de-fuser panel or on it

MICROWAVE TAKES LONGER TO COOK EVEN ON HIGH AND OCCASIONALLY SPARKS FOR NO REASON

inside your micro... walls are made of metal but protected with paint, if this paint is gone and the metal shows thats what happend you have to repaint the unprotected areas again, and the reason your micro... is not working so good anymore is due to the magnetron

After approx a minute a regular squeak begins, occasionally missing a beat.Heating is fine.

If the "frequency" of the squeaking is a low frequency, the I would suspect the turntable motor or stirrer motor (if so equipped).

If it is a higher frequency, I would suspect the cooling fan or hood fan motor.

I'm experiencing occasional arching from the center of the oven i.e. out of the spindle that rotates the metal rack and glass turntable. I cleaned thoroughly and it seems to have minimized the proble

Its unlikely to be associated with the tuntable motor. Units are tuned to prevent arching. Therefore it appears something may have changed inside the unit. Be sure there are no loose items or bits of foil or other mateallic items inside. Also check metal turntable.

Whirlpool Oven Model GS563LXSS and Serial # RT2415211 turns it self off occasionally.

It is possible that the unit takes in too much current to cut off the controller unit so if there is spark please do not switch on unless you have confirmed the fault. It is possible that the Magnetron is leaking and sparking to the ground. As you have mentioned it was stored, it is quite possible that insect can get into the oven and create soft spots. When you switch on these will create a short and make the voltage jump and in the long run damage the magnetron.
So Remove cover after disconnecting , check for dirt/moisture in the cabin, if so wipe clean and dry, check the magnetron and area clean and use an jet air to clean off.
Now keeping clear switch on , use a cup of water inside to test.
If you notice any sparks shut off as the magnetron or the main HT capacitor can be faulty. replace with same type.
If there is heating without any issues , you can use the microwave safely

My stoves elite g500 will light occasionally on the ignition but will light ok with a match how do i fix it?

The spark is not good enough to ignite and so the coils must be checked. Clean the igntion points, check the switch and test if there is any clogging of food, dirt with moisture that is reducing the spark. Remove clean and reset this section.

The microwave occasionally shuts itself off. The

You are tripping a high limit switch which means the cooling fan is busted or the microwave is installed to close to something. That or your door interlock switches are sticking.

Crackling sound in microwave vent when power is off

By "powered off" can I assume you mean that it is plugged in and at idle, not cooking, just showing the clock?

If so, I'd say your control board is failing.

If my assumption is wrong, please write back with more details.

We regularly repair these control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week with a one-year guarantee.
