I have a huge problem with these headphones (the Sennheiser HDR 120)... and my wife bought two of them... They have great sound on the computer, but once the green light turns off on the base? There is a deafening static sound the comes out of the headphones... the green light turns off when there is no sound coming out... but the funny thing is (I have a Mac)... when I play iTunes, the headphones do not pick up that iTunes IS a sound... I have to go into the volume bar and toggle it a little bit... then the green light comes on, and the sound works perfectly... how the base cannot determine that iTunes is actually sound is beyond me... but I have a loud ringing sound in my ear because of the first time I did this... Any thoughts?

The volume of the sound source (Mac) must be sufficient, otherwise the transmitter automatically turns off. Turn up the volume on the Mac, and turn down the volume on the headphones. There is no way to disable the Automatic On/Off function of the transmitter.

Having exactly the same issue, I read somewhere that it is neighbours or other wireless machines interfering with the frequency, the fix would be switching channels and tune again. If that doesn't help it's because your transmitter is near a wireless machine.

Sennheiser HDR120 - missing transmitter / alternative OR replacement?

The system is working in the 860 Mhz range, so not that common. Most of the time it is cheaper to by a complete new system then to tray to buy components. Just keep looking in the thrift stores you find a transmitter for this headphone for a good price.

Sennheiser HDR 130 with TR 130 transmitter not working.

If you twist the earpiece, one of them has two NIMH AAA batteries ,worth checking out if these are gone ,which is what happened to me.I was about to bin my rs130's and just stuck two new rechargeables and the earphones are working again!!!!!

As for $20 dollars from sennheiser for replacements!?!?!?
You should pick up two NIMH batteries for a couple of bucks on ebay or amazon.DO NOT USE ORDINARY BATTERIES!!!!!

How do I charge batteries?

The headphones will automatically charge wirelessly when placed in the cradle that should have come with the package. To make sure the headphones are placed correctly, a red light should illuminate letting you know they are being charged and are properly placed.

Have not used them for a while

These systems have some signal detection, so needs an input to fire it all up. That is the same for the greenlight, when initially switched on for my HDR 120.
