Hi Tony, Take up the broken pieces and if there is a battery in the key connect it to the broken pieces, insert the key holding the broken parts in the same relative position and start up. Get the key replaced asap. Regards John
I have ESAM5500 and it shows General Alram. Even if I turn off and on the General alram pops up first. The other key is not functioning. I do not know how to make the reset of memory. So, I just make short circircuit of internal backup battery on control board. (The main power must be discunnected before disassembl)
That is your alram system. The computer has sensed something and turned the alram. Be careful because they can lock up the car where it can't be started. You will need to reset the system. You should call the dealership and tell them you need the security code for your vehicle. I am not sure about unplugging the battery. I don't know if that will work or not. You can check your owner manual and they might have it in your book. If you have any questions, write back. We will help as much as we can. Thanks for choosing FixYa.
You need to hook the alarm back up and do a reset on the car.
Here is how you do it.
1) Turn factory original key to "ON" position for 5 seconds 2) Turn key to "OFF" position. 3) Repeat 1 and 2 again. Do it twice. 4) This should reset the computer to the chip inside the key.
If that didn't work,You will need to have the codes downloaded at the dealer.
