Magenta drive gears are not meshing. Could be due to being worn or alingment issue some where. This the only color that is doing it.

5100cn, hearing a fast click noise when trying to print anything. I found the main gear assembly, the main drive motor, the gear the drive motor first turns, this gear is jumping up and over the subgear. wish i could post a photo for ya.. i am trying to find a place to order this assembly from..

I marked each gear with a permanant marker. The main drive for the toner in the printer changes position but the gear on the toner cartridged does not. It is also making a grinding noise like they are not meshing together

When you say the gears are not messing, what exactly do you mean.

Do you actually hear gears grinding, or are you just having an issue with magenta not printing properly.

if you hear grinding, where is the noise coming from? at the top right corner by the toner, or on the right side in the middle?

In either case, if you actually hear a grinding noise, this would require replacement parts to repair as these are not consumable user replaceable items.

I am having the same issue that is occuring at the top right of the toner. The cyan is not working. I cannot seem to find anyone that can help me with this, or very few forums with a fix or assistance. Can you assist?

Please can someone help me to get the service manual for the Dell laser 5100cn printer (.pdf) Thank you

The dell 5100cn is a rebranded Xerox Phaser 6300. You can buy the maintenance manual for under $4 on ebay. I did, and it was emailed to me as a pdf.

Looking for a service repair manual for a dell laserjet 5110cn

If you call tech support (when using the auto system, say you are a business for quicker response times) you can get them to send you one. If not under warranty, it may have a small cost to it.

not a problem at all.

This should fix your issue. I won't say it is a common failure, as the machine overall is very reliable, however for this problem the magenta developer is the most common failure for the 5100 and 5110.

Check your email shortly for the document and additional comments.

Please take a moment to rate this solution,
