Dewalt has two triggers available for their framing nailer. The black trigger (390746-00) is a bump style trigger. While holding the trigger, you will be able to fire a nail by pressing nose against work. This trigger is preferred by most framers because it is much faster. Gray trigger will only allow one nail to be fired. Bumping will not work with the gray trigger. With trigger released, you must place the nose against work then pull trigger to fire. To fire next round, you must release trigger, pull gun off the work, again place nose against work then press trigger. Check dewalt web site for recall information. Some dewalt framers have been recalled for faulty trigger. Good luck with your projects.

Where can I find a complete and detailed diagram to rebuild a Dewalt framing gun model # D51845

http://servicenet.dewalt.com/

There are 4 types of D51845, and your type number should be found near your model number. Go to this site and on the left is the box you will input your model number, it will ask for the type number, and then it will take you to a parts list. Click on the tab for diagrams, and there you go. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

How do you set up the bostitch coil framing nailer for contact nailing?

Bostitch nailers have two triggers available. Black trigger is rapid fire while the gray is single shot. Both triggers are usefull depending on type of work. Most people say that there is a degree of accuracy with single shot allowing for better placement of nail. If speed is your goal then use the black trigger to bump fire. More information and parts can be found at www.bostitch.com , look for "Support" tab, then "service / parts " find your model number from the pull-down list and search for the manual and parts list for needs. Good luck on your projects.

I have a craftsmans framing nailer when pushed against surface it will not fire and release the nails or even try.

Check the compressor to make sure you have it set at the proper air pressure for this nailer. Typically a framing nailer requires about 90 psi.

Dewalt framing nailer

Dewalt makes a great line of nailers and has a good network of factory repair centers with helpful repair department. Their web address is www.dewalt.com . Click on service/support button then look for Instruction Manual button to download your manual. When search window appears enter your model number. You can also view a parts list and order parts. I have a very old dewalt nailer that was not listed on their website but my local service center made me a copy of theirs at no charge. Good luck.
