Hotpoint Ultima CTD80

Hi , my dryer seems to have stopped heating as it dry's, it is also flashing either F-08 or F-10 depending on which setting i was trying, I was trying to dry a large feather pillow. I have switched off and re set the program, it starts then comes up with the error message, i have cleaned the filters(both) checked the water draw is empty and de fluffed the small tank at the back of the machine that the water condenses into, I have had this machine three years with no trouble from it so hopefully it is a simple fix?
can you help? cheers jo

I have a hotpoint ultima ctd80 which i have had the last 2 years, it has shown error codes f11, f10 and f15, every time i fix this problem by first switching off and unplugging appliance then removing small cover from back (middle with 2 screws) then larger panel that the smaller panel overlapped. once you remove these you will see the heating elements, remove the 2 screws at the back off this, remove cover carefully then at the top you will see two things (not very technical lol i am a woman), with a pin press the pin in the one with a hole, mine makes a clicking sound when i do it, not sure if it meant to but works for me. put all parts back together and thats the job done. make sure both fillters and water emptied regular, hope this helps and saves you a fortune on call outs

Woman or not, your description of the parts is perfect and your solutions works. Unplugging is a must!

Hotpoint CTD80 Clothes Dryer. Shows no error codes but high heat not working. Stats seem fine?

Question edited to add Maker.
Question moved to Hotpoint.

Most dryers have 2 elements, one for low, and one for medium. High heat is both elements together. My guess is that your medium element has failed and you are only getting low heat.

Test with a multimeter or call for service.

Condenser not drying stuff properly

I am hoping your talking about a clothes dryer here. based on the model number you posted here. Does your dryer even feel warm to the touch as in any signs of internal heating? If not then here are some things to check. 1 the basics: Check the circuit breaker and make sure that both of them are in the on positon. Just trip them off and then back on again to reset them. 2. Check the power cord for any signs of a bad connection. It will show up as a dark discoloration. 3. I know you said you checked the lint filter but have you gone outside and verified that the external outlet vent is free of obstructions? If not please check it and clear any obstructions. 4. The heating element itself may be open. Ovetr time they are like light bulbs and the burn out requiring repl;acement. 5. There can be a thermostat failure causing an open circuit and no power to the heating element. 6. The motor switch also controls the heating element circuit and it is actuated when the motor is running. If the switch has failed it will prevent the heating element from being energized. 7. The least likely suspects are the timer and heat setting controls yet either of them can cause a no heat condition. You did not mention if it was a gas or electric dryer and the comments above are for an electric dryer. If you have a gas dryer then you can have 8. a bad ignitor, 9. a bad gas valve, 10. a failed gas regulator. Based on this model number CTD80 it does not cross to anything that I can find. The bottom line is your unit is probably worth the cost of getting it repaired. You may want to check your model number again please and repost it you need more information. It appears this is a UK model. I hope this was helpful. It certainly was educational here.

My Ultima CTD80 suddenly stop working mid programme, supply is okay and fuses are good any ideas would be a welcome help thank Martin

if you have no display then the overheat cutout on the heater has tripped. can be reset but check air path (door filter and condensor ) as this usually trips for a reason.. safety first.

Dont know what the fault codes are for my Hptpoint Dryer CTD80

Hi.
F10 indicates that the heater is open circuit, or the thermostat is faulty, more likely to be open circuit thermostat, you should replace both thermostats.
Also make sure that you clean the filters regularly

This should solve your problem.

Tumble dryer not drying

Either dryer element has failed, thermostat for drying or the drying condenser fan not working.

There are two heating elements and the top one is for drying.

No heat on tumble dry programme. Display flashed F 13.

You need to replace the heating element for the dryer which is positioned on top of the outer drum. Remove the top cover of the machine and locate the heater.
