Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me here.
I've just started working with a W1, which I believe is a little gem.
What I'm looking for is additional EXIF data and I do not know if it is stored with the W1 pics or what program I need to view it.
Specifically I'm looking for White Balance and other adjustments available in MENU. Focal length would also be nice.
As I have a Canon camera I have been using Zoom Browser so that may be a limitation.
Zoom Browser gives me the following EXIF info from a W1 shot.
File Name DSC00554.JPG
Camera Model Name DSC-W1
Shooting Date/Time 15/06/05 9:59:49 AM
Tv (Shutter Speed) 1/400
Av (Aperture Value) 5.6
Exposure Compensation 0
ISO Speed 100
Image Size 2592x1944
Flash Off
Color Space sRGB
File Size 2217KB
Owner's Name
Files from a 10D and earler G3 also give me additional items like
White Balance
Lens focal length (either native or converted to 35mm ref)
And also other "adjustment" info.
EXTRACT FROM 10D
Focal Length 190.0mm
White Balance Mode Auto
AF Mode One-Shot AF
Parameters Settings
Contrast Standard
Sharpness Mid. High
Color saturation Standard
Color tone 0
Any help greatly apprecialted.

Hi, You should have unplugged your set in a storm like that. You should have had a surge protector too. I believe you will be looking at a big repair bill. Good luck.
Ensure that you hard drive has at least 20% of the hard drive available as free space.
Defragment the hard drive
Ensure that in System Properties, Advanced, Performance, settings, Advanced tab, Virtual memory. Ensure that System managed is selected.
System Properties, Advanced, Performance, settings, Visual Effects, Select adjust for best performance
Start, Run, MSCONFIG, Startup tab, uncheck items that you do not need to run at startup. Items to leave include Antivirus, and printer settings. Items like quicktime, adobe kodak etc can usually be disabled without losing functionality. If you uncheck an item and reboot and lose a needed function, you can go back and re-check it.
HI FRIEND, I DON'T KNOW THE SERVICE MENU OF NEC BUT TO ENTER IN ONIDA PRESS VSM AND DISPLAY BUTTON SIMULTANEOUSLY, FROM ORIGINAL REMOTE . JABBAL, 9422117997 NAGPUR
I found an online manual for your camera. Page 84 talks about the USB Mode Normal with the 4 dots underneath. It also show a troubleshooting area for this and it is on page 96. Hopefully this will get your camera working right again. Here is the link to the pdf manual. http://www.docs.sony.com/release/DSCW1.pdf
I think I read somewhere that pictures came out too soft and therefore sharpness should be set to +.
You need to use an image viewing application that can show the photo's EXIF data.
