My element electronics flx18511b 19inch tv wont turn on. when i try to turn it on the led goes from red to blue and the blue light gets dim and the screen stays black and to turn it off i have to unplug it but when i try to turn it on its the same process with no luck

Change the input. There should be an "input" or "source" button on the remote and/or tv for choosing the source for signal display. Change it to one of the other options (try all of them).

What exactly do you mean by goes silent? Does the screen turn off but you can still hear the audio? Please provide this info so that I can help you with your problem.
